Spent the last week there.Wow, just wow, what a horrible place.I've been to over fifty countries Morocco is easily the worst alongside Egypt. Admittedly i only went to Fez and Meknes so maybe the rest of the country is better?Anyone here who has been to Morocco that would willingly go back?
Slippy there can't be anywhere worse than Tunisia, went back in the 80s cos it was cheap it became apparent straight away why it was cheap....horrendous place.
You would hope that it has improved in 30years but I for one will not be going back to find out.

Can't be sure if Muaythai is incredibly shallow and has lived an incredibly sheltered existence or is a sneering snob laughing at the plebs who can't afford skiing in Klosters and summers in Puerto Banus and dare to still take their families somewhere cheaper.

I'm one of the plebs Porcupineor, born and bred on a council estate. Certainly not led a sheltered existance, done a lot of travelling and most of it in hostels. Maybe it is still snobbery though, i've just heard more than enough stories about those sorts of places to wonder why on Earth people head there. I've never been skiing or to anywhere you could deem exclusive, just an observation. You can have two blokes who went to the same school, live next door to each other and earn the exact same wage. One will do his best to look the part and save for holidays that little bit harder, the other will shop at Jacamo and give his kids sh1t double barreled names. It's the latter who tend to get the Turkey, Morocco etc... brochures out.

I'll add that the profile of your average Moroccan/Tunisian/Egyptian holidayer is usually obese, heavily-tattooed and generally rather grubby. And that's just the women.

I know quite a few Kashmiris' and they laugh about us going to those places Johnny, though they are very disparaging about Arabs anyway so might have some history.

I live in West Yorks Johnny. I have an offer to go there - don't know where exactly, it looks like the lower Alps, beautiful- but am not sure I would feel safe on a walking holiday round there despite assurance.

A bloke I know was telling me he and his wife said they would book a cheap flight to morocco for a weekend to see what it was like. He was saying he couldn't walk outside the hotel without getting unwanted comments and approaches to his wife who is blonde haired from the local males. Trying to touch her and asking 'did she have any daughters or sisters, ?'. He said he couldn't get out of the place quick enough, an awful kip.

OP - I travelled to Morocco about 10 years ago, Marrakesh, thought it was a stunning place and the people friendly. Mind you, saying that, I did return with food poisoning but that's because I wolfed down lots of street food. Can think of LOTS of worse places IMO.

i_agree_with_nick • September 8, 2016 1:36 PM BST I'd never go to Egypt again. I got conned by a timeshare salesman when I was there - it was a pyramid selling scam. 1/10 for that on nick
I would love to go to Egypt to see all the wonderful sights from Ancient Egypt I think everything good that happened in Egypt happened BC!
