brings the planes to a stop, cause chaos and huge inconvenience to hundreds of travellers. They should let the planes roll in and out and if any of all of these morons are killed then so be it (it's hardly a loss). It's just not right to let people get away with inconveniencing so many others .This ridiculous organisation should be sued for millions by both passengers ,the airlines and the airport.

Daily Politics has that stupid clucking b**ch Caroline Lucas totalyl defending these tw*ts, not a word of condemnation.
Are the "brains" of left wing idiots just wired totally differently to sane people?

Why did it take so long to get them off the runway? WTF is WRONG with this country?
These people should be getting punitive sentences, they are likely a bunch of right on rich kids who need a bit of waking up.

They should have been told they'd got 5 minutes to get off the runway otherwise they'd be shot dead and removed by a bulldozer...simples

This is not really our problem.....it is a problem which is internal to the United States.

There is nothing we can do about it.

Our police do not go around shooting black people.

I will not just condemn black people as others do, I think the problem is deeper than that

But there is absolutely no point in protesting in this country!

Have you not seen the photos of the "protestors" or heard the rubbish they've come out with?
They are all white, and jabbering on about how aircraft pollution victimises black people.
Bellends, basically. No doubt partial to Corbyn.

And the same sort of idiots as over in Calais arming and helping the illegal migrants attack lorries.

I don't care what colour the protesters are; both they and the organisation they represent need to be put away.

erm.....

I would have thought aircraft pollution victimises all people not just black ones?

I thought this 'Black Lives Matter' issue started because of the number of black people shot by police in the USA?

I am failing to keep up with the modern world, apologies posyBlush

That is if we think aircraft pollution victimises people at all of course?

I don't think Aircraft Engines do a lot for Climate Change, but this is an ecological issue we have to decide on.

It is nothing to do with peoples colour, unless the pollution turns people black of course, I don't think that happens?????????????

If they had done their homework they would have been at a slaughterhouse instead of an airport.

airplanes take folk on holiday so they can get a tan

maybe protesters were worried about their friends returning
from holiday during a heatwave ?

ebulGery, a jet engine will indeed turn people black -- if they stand close enough to the back of it. Silly

Program last night about a korean air crash said they initially found a piece of what they thought was jawbone on the runway and thought someone had ran in front of the plane and jumped into an engine ShockedShocked

IMHO instead of firing dead chickens into engines to simulate bird strikes they should fire Black Lives Matter protestors..

I would have thought the best way to clear a pile of white flakes from an airport runway was with a snow plough. And then a quick tazer just to make sure.

I just did one of my rare visits (for my own health) to the lefttard bible the Guardian to remind myself just whae level of cretin we have to live with on this planet, and the #1 trending opinion article, defending the people who closed the airport is ... ? :

"Climate change is a racist crisis" - "Today’s BLM protest at London City airport makes perfect sense"

I won't even say any more.

The Nine charged have been named. A statistic/odds shattering THREE of the NINE have double barreled names!
Right on trendy posh leftie tw*ts theory seems to be confirmed.

I'm disappointed none were called Tarquin or Rupert, I put half my bank on that.

Surely only a very long sentence in jail will be appropriate for these people.
Especially in view of the fact that the authorities are so ineffective in clearing law breakers like them from the runway. It took them over six hours to clear them off the runway.

This misery and disruption to thousands of passengers must not be allowed to happen again.

''The nine, aged between 23 and 32, are charged with aggravated trespass and being unlawfully airside within a restricted area of a plane.''

Looks like they're going to let them off with a slap on the wrist if that's all they're going to be charged with.

They must have friends in high places.

Why didn't the police use their tazers when they refused to move?

I'd have tazered the lot if they didn't cooperate immediately.

So why didn't they use their tazers?

I still don't see what aircraft emissions have to do with peoples colour...it either affects all of us or none at allCrazy

If people want to protest, how about thinking about what they are protesting about first???????????????????????

Have the 'Black LIves Matter' group carried out one of their high-profile protests yet at a very dangerous event called the Notting Hill Carnival? (Sometimes just referred to as 'Carnival' by people heroically managing to keep a straight face as they do so).

It's an event where, year after year, Black Lives are put at very considerable risk. The stats don't lie, and I would say that the pernicious annual event consistently threatens Black Lives much more than any activity at an airports.  Curiously I have yet to hear a word of criticism or concern about the Notting Hill Carnival by this high-profile protest group.

What got me was the BBC giving a spokesperson of theirs a 2 minute interview to allow them to explain their position.

What a great incentive to encourage similar crimes!

They should be able to get sued by the people losing out due to their actions.
