Most people have stopped.

The number of betfair forum posts this year is 15% of the level it was in 2012.

Wonder where they went.

So if this thread had started 5 or 6 years ago would probably already have 18-20 replies

We were discussing it on the football forum a few weeks back ( why the forum is dying ) and so i did some simple statistical comparisons.

Looking at pages from the forum index in 2016 and 2012 .

The results were very consistent : For every thread started on a given day in 2016 , there were 6 or 7 started on the same day 2012.

I was careful to makes sure they were comparable days ( eg 1st round of Carling Cup on football )

Of course the point where everything changed was the Bob Vegas meltdowns . It was him and that nutcase that was mostly on Chit Chat , spamming the forums with idiot threads .

Betfair couldn't stop them cresting new names and so stopped anyone from joining.

On the football forum thread a guy explained what it is like to join the forum  now ; months of emails and phonecalls to customer service , practically having to beg for it !

Maybe 50 people have joined since 2012 , maybe 500 regulars gone.

What was that Chit Chat nutter's best known name on here ??

Metal Mickey or Secret Squirrell ?

Possibly confusing him with someone else .

The one i had in mind was banned with Bob Vegas but i think he had a spare username and his last act here shortly after that was to post a link live streaming of an amateur porn film he was making with his Mrs

We need a petition to get new users.....less stringent gate-keeping
