Doing this as a surprise for a grandchild.

I have a stone image which is ideal, but I need to be able to repeat it to something like 1-12th scale,  to fill A4 paper.

I don't have Photo-Shop as I guess I could do it with that!

Advice will be well appreciated...thanks

Paint.NET is excellent and it's free. Get it from

It does things like layers that most free stuff doesn't. I use it for designing book covers.

I no longer have a printer in the house, i used to buy inks etc. Became fiddley and expensive.
if you have microsoft word -
take your pattern into microsoft word? stretch it to a4 size(insert, picture, from file)
when it fills page(maybe adjust margins?) save document to a memory stick.
take your memory stick to the local library or boots print bureau ?
libraries have microsoft word.

Well done, AP! Don't forget to run an internet cable in and you'll need a flatscreen TV (get a 4K one, HD is so-ooo last year).
