So close?

Once you get your pace and breathing right swimming for a long time can be almost as easy as walking. Think trouble in the sea isnt so much your arms getting tired as trying to get calories in and getting cold and the sea salt in your mouth making your tongue swell up, wetsuit rash(ifwearing one) jellyfish etc. i was supposed to do a 20k swim this weekend but got cancelled because sea wasnt calm enough (in truth I was probably gonna do it in a team 2k on, 2k off).

The people in the boat pilotting him reallyhave to take a lot of the blame here, thought I heard earlier that he was pulled from the water unconscious. That aint good.

Sometimes the last mile or two can take hours andhours they just have to tread water until the tide changes.

I agree with that

But the problem is he may have resisted giving up until he was unconscious, by then it was too late.

The combined shock of it all probably killed him, he had pushed himself too far..very sad

Very much easier swimming with the tide than against it...the tide, current is everything.

I think they are supposed to check he isnt delirious by maybe asking him a few simple questions.

Whatever they did it was too late....it would not have been intentional...accidental death I should think

Not that I was there?

Facts the hypocrite will be disappointed by this story as it wrecks his latest idea to bring in a host of those enriching migrants into Kent.

Totally agree.

How on earth did they let this happen? Like Rob said they should have been asking him questions to check he was fit to continue.
