Was a report on southern local news earlier. Between midnight and 6am officials in Calais say the mororways are no longer safe. There was footage of people traffickers having cut off the motorway by pushing a large tree branch onto the road so the traffic stopped. They were all face covered with bandanas, they were then forcing a migrant to try and climb into one of the parked lorries. Apparently this happens all the time. Surprised me, I mean surprised it works, even if you were a trucker scared to get out and stop them climbing on you would just turf them out at the port. Unless it is happening and they are totally unaware.

where have you been hiding this has been happening for ages. The camp has gone from 5000 to 9100 in 2 months, 230 immigrants try everyday to get across the channel and the mayor has been begging the gov to send the army in. They can patrol beaches at Cannes but won't send them to Calais where there is real trouble.

been happening for at least a month to my knowledge. They chuck a tree out to stop the traffic and then try and access a lorry when it all backs up, if they can't they usually brick a windscreen and it has also happened to holiday makers. The French are losing substantial sums due to the drop in tourism, the ferry company's are saying loads of Brits with caravans have cancelled for this bank holiday coming.
Holidays in France used to be such a pleasure, but there are far too many lonely peaceful men over there now with mental health issues .
Apparently there has a been a significant drop off in tourist numbers to France this year, and from some countries a huge drop off in the figures. They believe it's to do with the bloody spin offs from their "enrichment" and "vibrancy" and people not wanting the last two words they hear to both start with A.

It's only the port road into Calais port that's the issue at the mo and only at certain times. No issues around Eurotunnel as the exit onto the A16 is a fair bit further South. That could all change but gotta feel for the truck drivers using the ferries. No mention of this on the BBC of course.

Random lorries should be left driven around empty, let them fill, put some food and water in, put it on a fast container ship or plane and put it on the libyan coastline. Or outside the Reichstag. There seems to be absolutely no plan to deal with any of these issues, they won't go away by themselves. Because more northern countries are now enforcing borders the problem is now backing up into poor Italy which is already in a financial hole. Well done Merkel, she's done so much damage to Europe.
Loads of videos on youtube with lorry drivers being harrassed whilst driving, looks a horrible job.
How's a good honest trucker supposed to murder any female hitch-hikers with all this going on? If only there were any on here we could ask.

I find it reassuring that despite Brexit, the Uk remains attractive to foreign investment...
When you think about it, a lot of these guys must be getting through eventually.I mean, why else would they hang around.They must know of friends that have gotten across and must be pretty sure that if they try enough times they will get to the other side.That 10,000 wouldn't surprise me at all.
