baffles me when people spend thousand on the coffin. Id be more than happy if my relatives just tossed me into the sea or buried me in the back garden like a pet

Whole thing is a rip off ,as most on here already know.Last year my father was pricing up replacing 2 headstones and was being quoted about £6k (for 2) for ones he liked the look of.I had a look on the internet and it was soon obvious that most monuments were not bespoke at all ,they were all being bought off a wholesaler and then being peronalised.I got the exact same 2 that he fancied for £2200 supplied and installed .

It's amazing how easily people will part with their money when the circumstances are right.
And the higher the price tag the easier they are to fleece. People who will freely pay many thousands without questioning the price for a funeral, will scrutinize everything they buy at the supermarket for the best bargains simply to save mere pennies. |

I buried a pet two yeras(or years)ago. I had some marble from a fireplace
I'd kept and it took a couple of hours to carve his name into it. Why are people forking out thousands of pounds for a rock? Are ye all nuts. Form a committee and get the law changed. buy a power tool and make your own? a weekend project? |

AFTER THOUGHT - ye just might kill yourself doing that?
wear safety goggles and earth yourself from shocks? |
