He was later thrown off Facebook for the rant.

But former WBA and IBF lightwelterweight champ Amir Khan, 29, said: “He’s right. Everything he said is true. I am proud of being British and anyone who lives here has to have respect whatever your religion. There’s no place for extremism here.”

Despite being spotted at glitzy US bashes with the likes of superstar rapper Drake, Amir said he didn’t want to be known for partying – although he refused to rule out becoming a Hollywood star when he hangs up his gloves.

Amir was in New York last week with wife Faryal Makhdoom and wasted no time getting to know a few megastars.

Well said Amir, as Case says we can accept him being proud of his roots but we all have to move on and it takes a big man to speak out in his community.

& on the other hand we have the extremist linked London mayor Sadiq Khan that's waving
his muslim wand all over London trying to change British cultural things!

Amir Khan - what a great example of a Brit with Muslim background

AK hasn't got far to walk from where he lives to step into at least 3 enclaves that i know of. My advice for the lad? Get a loudpeaker and give it full belt in these areas. In Urdu of course; because he will soon find out that 99% of these areas not only is English not spoken, neither is British culture mentioned or even more importantly, considered..

there was a vid about him on BBC player leading up to the Canelo fight
which featured his old man a fair bit as well
he came across(his father that is) as a real down to earth northerner
and obviously passed on a lot of morals and values to Amir
who i actually quite like
v brave fighter and decent guy
who doesn't appear to be a hypocrite
draws strength from his beliefs
so fair play to him
but also respects the country of his birth

Does anything at all happen to you if you go abroad and do not respect the culture of the country you are visiting? Would you be surprised if you were questioned?

I expect they would just let you stay as long as you wanted to.
