I've been investigating why my stomach has been getting pains every time I try to eat healthily - the doctors say, it takes time to adjust to Veg, increased gases etc. But I was on a veg diet for almost a year before my stomach pains got to me. Eventually stones were detected. But in my old lifestyle eating of complete Junk. Which I know is equally bad with refined sugars and carbs. never caused stones? So what's caused this. I used to buy a bag of Spinach and eat this every night with a tin of mackeral and tomatoes. Some variation of it - other Nice salad leaves ? Make up a kale shake with pinapple? Instinctively when my stomach seized up I stopped eating Salad leaves.
Came across this today looking at ten foods to never eat on Youtube - there is a leaf in Asia that can only be eaten cooked. If you try to eat it raw it might kill you. It has Calcium Oxalate? never heard of it? Oxalate Acid? (causes Kidney stones) - Got me thinking about Spinach? How much Oxalate Acid in my healthy spinach... 750 milligrams per 100 gram serving. Many foods contain oxalic acid, especially leafy greens such as spinach, kale, chard, parsley, collards and beet greens. Spinach has the highest levels of oxalic acid.
So the lesson is Eating too much of a good thing is a bad thing. never eat too much of anything?
Quite a lot of "healthy" food is dangerous if uncooked. Kidney beans for a start. Don't eat any venomous insects, whether raw or cooked, with the obvious exception of scorpions.
Vegetables are mostly poisonous. Tomatoes, potatoes and tobacco are closely related. Leave them alone. Rhubarb leaves and roots usually involve undertakers.
Grains of any kind are best used for alcohol. Fruits, except tomatoes, are usually safe but, like grains, are best fermented.
Get your proteins and fats from animals, you'll get enough traces of carbohydrates there too. You don't need tea or coffee. That's just the devil's way of getting you to swallow milk and sugar.

i was suspicious of potatoes? my doctor made a by the way comment. 'you should stop eating potatoes?' but I was thinking maybe he meant chips? but I think If they're in the deadly nightshade family, maybe cutting them back to once a week is a good idea.
The family includes the Datura or Jimson weed, eggplant, mandrake, deadly nightshade or belladonna, capsicum (paprika, chile pepper), potato, tobacco, tomato, and petunia.
