ok i know its 1994, but its one of my favourite films.... well worth a look. Léon: The Professional (French: Léon; also known as The Professional) is a 1994 English-language French action crime thriller film[2] written and directed by Luc Besson. It stars Jean Reno and Gary Oldman, and features the motion picture debut of Natalie Portman. In the film Leon (Reno), a professional hitman, reluctantly takes in 12-year-old Mathilda (Portman), after her family is murdered by corrupt Drug Enforcement Administration agent Norman Stansfield (Oldman). Léon and Mathilda form an unusual relationship, as she becomes his protégée and learns the hitman's trade.

Mathilda

I like Trainspotting. It's 1996 so almost qualifies.

... yes i know mcmoon, but what did you think of the film. ??

Excellent
it's also one of my all time favs .. but is an underrated classic a bit like Se7en

I personally liked the Plant she grew ... made me want a plant you know ...

Love Leon, hate Seven.

Wasnt there talk of a sequel to Leon?

Terminator

I think my point has been proven...

The Natural`, Robert Redford and `The Right Stuff` Sam Shepherd.

two terrific films from the 80s no one ever seems to have seen

The Long Good Friday...end of thread xx

The Last Dragon

awesome action and humour.

Has Prince's Girlfriend in it.

Who's the master ? Brilliant villians.

Leroy Brown. Sho Nuff.

Every time we get one of these topics we get " end of thread "

No-one listens though as people still keep posting

The Natural - very good film, many years since Iv'e seen it probably worth a watch again

Two of my Favs your get the first one but maybe not the second ( unless you look it up of course )

"I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser gate. All those moments will be lost in time... like tears in rain... Time to die"

"I know you gentlemen have been through a lot, but when you find the time, I'd rather not spend the rest of this winter TIED TO THIS FACKING COUCH!"

The Ting

Think it was Don Moffatt?

Das Boot
Cinema Paradiso
Jean De Florette
Blade Runner
Raging Bull
Manhunter
Diva
Midnight Run
Field of Dreams
House of Games

Good to see Field of Dreams get a mention. Underrated imho..

Two baseball films mentioned and I'm not a fan of either. Bull Durham & Eight Men Out are both 1988, and both far superior to The Natural & Field of Dreams. I'm not even going to add 'imo'!!

I'd take Major League (1989) over TN & FoD too.

Agree Bull Durham is a cracker.

WD guinness with the Ting

Ta, one of the few remakes that was ultra better than the original..
