Gary Moore has a son who plays guitar, I caught some random clip and thought he was pretty good.
Eddie Van Halen's son plays bass, and I think has a LOT of carbodydrates and pies on the gig riders. If you know what I'm saying. |

I would say Jack White.
My pops would say Rory Gallagher. |

This is a really silly post ...and just peoples personal opinions (unqualified if you're not a guitarist).
Most "Top Guitarists" have their own very distinctive styles e.g. Peter Green, Jimmy Page,Jeff Beck,Eric Clapton, Garry Moore,Mark Knopfler, Brian May, Steve Vai,Rory Galagher,Angus Young ...even dear old Hank Marvin (did anyone ever get a better sound out of a "Strat")...let's face it they're all phucking good and my apologies to the many I've missed. I used to own a very famous guitar shop ...and I've seen kids of fifteen come in that would blow you away ...and will never get any kind of recognition ...I guess that's life. Let's give the girls some recognition...go on YouTube and look at "Tina S" of France she is just phucking awesome ..also Orianthi Panagaris ...again awesome. RockinRon - Lead Guitarist... PS: As I'm now semi-retired ...I build (as a hobby) Tribute Guitars...
I have built and hanging on my wall.... 1) A copy of "Dave Gilmours" - Black Strat (complete with 7 way switching) 2) A copy of Eric Clapton's "Blackie" 3) A copy of Stevie Ray Vaughn's sunburst Strat (SRV). 4) Last but not least ..a cop of Hank's Fiesta Red Strat with all gold fittings. I also have a "Special Edition" Stratocaster "Blackie" ...but mine is signed personally by Eric to me... "To Ron Eric Clapton '99" |

Burton, I was about fourteen when I built my first (and only self-built) guitar. It was in the woodwork class at school. (This wasn't a school in England but the Master was an Englishman.)
Getting the right glue was difficult but the woodwork Master managed it. I also needed strings. After the term break, I arrived with strings my dad had brought from the UK. I wasn't convinced that the glue had fully set, so I decided to leave it until the next week. During that week, my usual woodwork Master was replaced by somebody else. That somebody else fitted the strings. The guitar exploded. Outcome? I was expelled from the school for insolence. (Kicking him in the whatnots. That's what it said in the letter.) Good luck with your guitar. If anything goes wrong, it will be your fault. I hope your whatnots survive. |

I would add Peter Frampton into the mix - maybe not the best but probably the one I most enjoy listening to

Not a mention (yet) of Gilmour..?
Blackmore could push out a mean tune too. So many great guitarists out there, past and present, and each has or had their own style. If I had to choose a top five or whatever, I think I'd put it something like this, and then change my mind ![]() Jimmy Page David Glimour Jimmi Hendrix Angus Young Richie Blackmore |

All very subjective and depends on tone, emotion etc that fits mood.
For me Carlos Santana (e.g.Song Of The Wind) often in tandem with Neal Schon. Also Dave Gilmour, Peter Green, Lindsey Buckingham. |
