dunno how they get in this position. surely you make sure you get a safe jump straight up. anything close to 8 metres will skate into the final. don't need to be pushing the board to the nearest millimetre

indeed amazing she was such a short price carrying 2 such inept events. the racing post even tipped her

surely someone should be able to make her at least vaguely competent at throwing. she's haemorraging points

Not one of the 'experts' has blamed her coach. Who the feck teaches her to throw like that and pie chuck a shot then?

At least Backley said what's she doing all year it's no good practising now..

Thought I'd try watching super Saturday, watching kjt, she looks like she doesn't even want to be there, are there other throwers?  Why aren't they showing them? Watching her walking about isn't very super, back to the volleyball I think.

said it before heptathlon is a joke if they had the inclination theres 100,s of athletes who could do brilliant times in the 3 track events, decent long jump and bluff their way through the other 3, jack average of all trades good at none

Agree 100%. For 2 years the BBC have been building this girl up, as if she's some kind of superstar. What was that all about? They must have known that she was absolutely useless at 2 (at least) of 7 events. "Elite athlete", my @rse!

Shes a high jumper, simple as that. The rest of her performances were shockingly embarrassing. Agree though the event is an absolute joke and should be disbanded.

Thing is, she only needs to improve to be on the poor side of average and pick up 300 points in the throws to medal easily, possibly with gold. Problem is not just technical though, it's in her head and she has zero confidence in the throws.

Someone mentioned Denise Lewis's comment that she need to actually take part in some throwing competitions, even if it's just club level. It's no good just keep chucking stuff in training.

She's only 23, so could have another 2 Olympics yet, but if there's no improvement by the World Championships next year, she may well just fade away.

Do any of you know the first thing about what you are talking about or do you just think 'I know, I'll go on chit chat and hammer out some thoroughly overarching cr@p based on something I've been suckered into believing'?

Which sort of begs the question - why aren't they all freeloading it at the Lotteries expense and queening it around Rio right now?

KJT threw 36 metres, so Jess Ennis threw 70 metres did she? Eclipsing the British Javelin record by 4 metres and cementing a definite first place in this Heptathlon? Or, y'know...maybe she didn't!

You don't get sixth place in the Olympic Heptathlon being a good high jumper - but then again, she probably wasn't on the drugs everyone else was, eh?

The BBC are guilty of blatant partisanship. Again, a quick look at her Personal Best in all disciplines (by either yourself or the great and the good at the Beeb, would have highlighted her deficient events

Naturally, it takes an educated Spurs supporter to bring a moment of clarity and understanding to the bullsh1t festival. The clue here is in the 'no hopers' comment, which whilst a bit over the top, highlighted the fact this wasn't going to be Tessa Sanderson you'd be watching out there.

Some have made the valid points she didn't look like she wanted to be there, her body language was all wrong and she hadn't worked on the events she needed to. Kathryn Merry basically tore KJT a new one on 5 Live today, saying she looked too lean, lacked any kind of power and never competed in events she was weak at in order to get experience and at 23 (2 years older than the Belgian Gold Medallist)  she should be moving from 'potential' to 'achievement'

I noticed from Twitter that her coach is the same coach Steve Smith had in Atlanta - Smith was a Scouse high jumper, KJT's most progressive event - Jess was getting specialist javelin coaching from Mick Hill (probably convenient cos he's a Yorkshireman and so accessible to Jess)'- so you do wonder if KJT is getting the right coaching input in the technical throwing events, I presume if you coach a multi-eventer there is a premium on time management and delegation that does n't apply to the same extent to coaching athletes focused on a single discipline.

i dont think you set out to be a hepthalete its a fallback option once you,ve realised you aint going to make it to the top in any one event, hence theres probably lots of athletes out there who beat kjt but are still trying to make it in single events, imo
