Anyone recommend a hotel within a couple of miles of centre of london shopping day out, budget £150 for a night.

the Copthorne at Chelsea FC is nice (short walk to Fulham tube), my favourite though is The Andaz at Liverpool St (tube is 100 yds next to hotel) part of the Hyatt chain and 5 star. Do not stop at The Hilton Tower Bridge it is effing awful.

Cumberland is a scruffy gaff, Strand Palace Hotel is ok for that budget.

Slippy's Strand Palace is a 5 min walk to Covent Garden....there was a murder at the Cumberland, junkie with a hammer.
