the Copthorne at Chelsea FC is nice (short walk to Fulham tube), my favourite though is The Andaz at Liverpool St (tube is 100 yds next to hotel) part of the Hyatt chain and 5 star. Do not stop at The Hilton Tower Bridge it is effing awful.

Cumberland is a scruffy gaff, Strand Palace Hotel is ok for that budget.

I`ve just booked Elstree Inn in Boreham Wood, above a Wetherspoons on main high street, 5 mins walk from train station for Thames Link, straight into St Pancras

Slippy's Strand Palace is a 5 min walk to Covent Garden....there was a murder at the Cumberland, junkie with a hammer.

£70 per night, double room with bathroom. breakfast downstairs in Spoons is very good and next to nowt, coffee 95p and free re-fills
