on exchange the rules on under/over the total points market are clear it DOES include extra time. last week i had a bet on sports book( you know the part of bet fair run by the bookmakers) before my bet i asked chat if extra time was included in points market as there are NO rules stating this(typical bookmaker con) I was informed yes. Yesterday I had a bet on points with the bookmakers sorry sports book and it took extra time and i won only to be told no you lost extra time not counted. i informed bet fair and even have a copy of last weeks chat only to be told sorry nothing we can do.
so i no longer bet on rugby or with sports book so please beware and no good asking chat they have no idea

UK sports books in general do not cater for overtime in Aussie Rugby League matches.  Markets are based on 80 minutes unless explicitly stated otherwise.

The exchange, for the same sport, does cater for overtime and as you state it is included in the market rules.

The person no chat clearly didn't know the rules.  Not surprising really given I am sure chat operators on bookies are continually answering questions incorrectly.

I agree with you that betfair sportsbook should ideally have market rules readily available for each bet as they do on the exchange, but in this case with nothing available it all goes back to the default rule set which is for regular time only.
