Had some pain on the left side - someone has a voodoo doll of me?
Set out to go swimming - pain got to me, long standing pain for over
a year. Doctor said it was a muscle thing at first( sneezing from a cold).
then after two months - its IBS. then he prescribes proton pump inhibitors?
not taking those? mad stuff to take. So drained yesterday and sore.
I asked other doctor what is there under the ribs, last week. Spleen. looked up spleen?
spleen can be affected by parasites? one of the things? of many.
They don't want to give you antibiotics anymore - just anti acids. So I  bought
Garlic Yesterday on the way hope with soup ingredients.
today i feel brand new. Hope it lasts. Still taking the soup and garlic.

Looked up Garlic it kills everything. Strong stuff. Kills Fungus, bacteria, candida,
parasites. described as a natural antibiotic.

soup needed to kill stinging in mouth as you eat the raw garlic.
lentils, stock cubes, carrots, turnip/swede (chicken optional) -

kill the bugs - garlic/allacin.

Hi - remember you said your father in law had stomach cancer.
Doctor sent me for endoscopy - That was brutal. Never getting
that done again. Shaking after it. Like swallowing a rubik cube.
Give you the option of doing it awake or asleep? FKin brainless
did it awake. Gagging all the way. like a snooker cue going down.
Went to Dr on Wednesday and results still not in? (waited a month,
why so long getting a result)said my stomach was inflamed and they
took a sample of my gut for biopsy?
The bandits keep giving me anti acids (proton pump inhibitors
Omeprezol LanzoprazoL tablets) the ones you mention. I don't have acid.
I have a digestion problem. my stomach stops for twelve hour spells.
it causes bloating and cramps. Pressure build up in abdomen.
I excluded sugar and carbs a year ago and I think I just need all the
stuff they put in cereals. B complex vitamins. niacin, rioboflavin etc.
You need all that stuff to coat nerves in your stomach.

After mild stomach pains I had an endoscopy - had mine done under sedation - not that unpleasant, gagged once and they must have given me a bit more sedation...

After reading that much about digestive/stomach problems and the dozens of different conditions that exist, I can't see how the hell a gastro consultant can have a clue what anyone's problem is.

Combine this with the fact that everyone's diet is different, I am amazed they come up with any diagnoses at all.

I have come to the conclusion that if they can't find cancer, or can't see anything or don't have anything else flagged up they give you PPI.

My consultant told me that if I had any further pain to take paracetamol!

My problems aren't at all bad but I have sympathy for those whose are.

Hi guys, I have been reticent about posting on this and the related thread because health wise I may look like a lost case, looking for attention/sympathy Laugh.

Anyway for what it's worth, here goes.....

I have had 'reflux since I was 15, after years of quack remedies, bicarb etc. it turned into 'Barrets oesophagus' which has the effect of increased risk of cancer of the oesophagus. I have had the' Rubiks' cube treatment year on year for the last 30. Put simply the oesophagus lining cannot cope with stomach acid because it was not designed to so do.

The good news is Daily Omaprazole has controlled it and allowed me to eat and drink what the fck I like when I like. The last time I had the 'billiard cue down my throat (3 years ago) Barrets was hardly discernible, yippee, Wink.

The treatment has stopped because I'm an old cooont now and the money is used (quite rightly) on younger paitents.

Stomach problems are many and varied, for fck sake guys stay away from internet quack remedies because any short term relief ultimately ends badly. A great friend of mine ignored my advice to see his GP for a referral and left this world far to early at the age 49, and it was far from dignified, after cutting bits away and the indigence of colostomy bags etc he quickly succumbed.

The problem with oesophageal cancer is without an Endoscopy it is undiscernable until it's too late, by the time a sufferer has problems swallowing (the first sign) the cancer has already spread to all the vital organs and it goodnight Vienna!.

It truly is a silent killer , an insidious fcking illness, the late John Thaw suffered this fate. So Again!! stop listening to fckin idiots on the internet, telling you to eat this not that et fckin cetera, if you have any stomach problems see your GP.
Report Foinavon July 31, 2016 10:59 AM BST
As we get older acid reflux becomes more common. The sphincter (valve) at the bottom of the oesophagus is weak and for a variety of reasons can fail to seal properly.
This happened to me and I was constantly awakened during the night with heartburn. Went to the doc who prescribed the billiard cue and camera treatment. Just had the throat spray followed by a few minutes discomfort then it was all over. They check the stomach and duodenum at the same time and take samples for analysis. Was put on omeprazole and have had no problems since.

I know people react to endoscopy in different ways but it's worth 10 minutes discomfort to the potential horrors of not being properly diagnosed and I wholeheartedly support what Boxing said above.

Absolutely Foinavon, my valve was fcked from the start. Laugh. I used to be put out for the endoscopy, but when they changed the rules about leaving the hospital unaccompanied, (and possibly driving under the influence) I decided to have the spray, after a few goes it really does get a lot easier if you learn to relax the throat,..... as the Bishop said to the actress.Laugh

I never suffered much from acid reflux or indigestion, just for a period I  had lower abdominal pains but the endoscopy showed mild Barrett's.  I don't think this was connected with the pains which would have been further down digestive system.  I would never have had the Barrett's diagnosis otherwise.

Dr Crippen, I snapped at you earlier, sorry. I don't disagree with anyone who tries different eating and drinking habits, we are what we eat and all that. I just have a real thing about people saying, cider apple vinegar, bi-carb, garlic, etc, will cure this and that. If you have an illness none of the above will cure it, of course taken in moderation vinegar and garlic have nutritional benefits as do hundreds of foodstuffs.

As casemoney, has posted he had a reaction to rapeseed oil and it gave him problems, not just the seed but his wife suddenly changing his diet so dramatically with the stuff. Lots of people read tosh on the internet and go ga for the 'new wonder food, (Tumeric apparently cures everything from cancer to ingrowing toenails, FFS) piling it into a body that is not accustomed to it, so the, body reacts to the 'shock in many different ways.

I don't believe in miracle cures either.
Except for food exclusion, which in many cases the patients show spectacular improvement when an offending food is removed from their diets.

Another very useful thing to know is the benefit one can get from food combining. That's only eating foods in combinations that digest well together.
Another branch of medicine that's sadly neglected by GPs.

B12 test ? Dr says my Iron level is high.
need to come in. (sounds like a car going to a garage).
Might have to be drained. Got a donor card so not a problem.
looked up excess iron and sounds great.
found this on - http://drlwilson.com/articles/IRON.htm

i used to eat a lot of bread, half a loaf a day? or a baguette, or two.

White Flour Products.  An important source of excess iron can be refined wheat flour products.  (The product is labeled as wheat flour, but it means refined white flour.  Only whole wheat flour really is the genuine article.)

In the 1920s, it was found that animals fed a diet of white flour developed serious neurological diseases and then died.  Instead of banning this product, the US Food and Drug Administration declared that most white flour products must be “enriched” with iron and a few vitamins to “correct” the problem.

The “enrichment” has created an even worse situation, in many cases, that contributes to diabetes, heart disease and cancer.  Her is why:

1. “Enrichment” enhances the iron content far more than was originally in the whole wheat flour.  This can increase iron in the diet too much.

2. The form of enrichment is either iron sulfate, iron fumarate, or NaFeEDTA.  These can easily change into a toxic form of iron such as an oxide.

3. The body requires minerals and will absorb whatever is available.  White flour is mainly stripped of its trace elements, creating a nutritionally deficient food.  The iron is plentiful.  Thus the body absorbs more of it than it would if there were a natural balance of minerals in the flour.  This also unbalances the body.

4. Iron is selectively absorbed by the body, to begin with.  This is a survival mechanism because of the great importance of iron for oxygen transport in the blood.

This combination can easily contribute to iron toxicity.

I hope this explains the serious problems with bleached, refined white flour, labeled as “wheat flour” or “enriched flour”.

Iron in water supplies.  In certain areas of America and around the world, the ground water is very high in iron.  This occurs because the water passes through rocks containing iron, or it could be due to industrial contamination, in a few cases.  Wells should always be tested for iron contamination.

read up on high iron levels in blood.
it's quite a common thing in western europe.
especially if you have irish lineage.
basically everyone over 40 should be tested
for iron levels. It's cumulative you gain 1gram
each year and it stays with you. each year the levels
rise and your oxygen is affected in red blood cells.
it attacks across the board. Doctor told me I had
a fatty liver, put it down to western living?
pains in spleen, pancreas and heart. All signs of high
iron levels. It attacks the pancreas giving you diabetes.
heart attacks. possible cancer later on.
But treatment is so simple - you donate blood. It takes out
a large portion straight away - an eighth? you keep doing this
over the year till your levels normalize. I'm a blood donor
but haven't given any in ten years - shows you that Karma gets
you. I should have kept giving. I actually stopped coz i was feeling
tired? thought I was draining all the good sauce away.

If everyone over 40 had this test done - it would maybe stop diabetes to
a great degree. plus blood donations would go up - it's a no brainer.
stop heart attacks too?
