Good afternoon, everyone.

Does anyone else do a bit of logo or letterhead graphic design?  I'd love to see and discuss your work if you're prepared to share it on the Chit Chat forum.  Here are three examples of mine.

Here is my most recent, discussed at length on the forum and receiving much valued suggestions and advice during its conception.

Accepted to great enthusiasm by the client on first submission.

This one was created for an American friend to promote his pool and billiard games.

Accepted on first submission without revision.

This commission was kindly passed on to me by Londis Lagerhound.

It was rejected by the client.  My own fault entirely as I stubbornly strayed from the brief, putting my own design ideas above their wishes.  Londis, gentlemen that he is, insisted on paying me in full despite the fact that he had to complete the task himself.

In my opinion some of the world's best known logos are not that great from a design viewpoint, they have become iconic due to the vast sums of money ivested in the brand.

The five images below however, although not globally famous, are true works of art and beauty.

I don't do logos or letterheads but I do my own bookcovers. The problem with online bookcovers is that you have to do something that looks good in full-size colour but can also catch attention in thumbnail mono. (eg Kindle)

People do judge a book by its cover.

Can you post up samples, Gallivanter?  I'd be very interested to see some of your work, sir.

You can google me under the nom-de-plume Mungo Dryden or just look at Amazon (anywhere) for Mungo Dryden.

Some Mungo Dryden books are not on Amazon because they might not pass the terms and conditions. (Dirty books.)

I also write better paying stuff (NOT erotica) under other names but would rather my small but enthusiastic following didn't find out I wasn't a woman.

Just had a peek, Gallivanter.  Excellent!  All the covers have a certain theme running through them.  Laugh

Joking aside, it's very impressive to be making a living with your writing.  Many congratulations indeed, sir.

I like the use of negative space to create another relevant image in the Australia and Lion creations.
Well done that man.

Indeed, Foinavon.  I thought the Spartan one was ingenius, too.

A compliment from you, Pokermonster, is worth a gold medal fromm lesser men. I really mean that.

Well, thank you, sir, that's most kind.

I meant it, too.  Millions of us would like to be successful authors, but very few have the talent or perseverance to succeed.
