That is disgusting, people who can do that to the most vulnerable are scum. I hope you are going to take it further.

old woman nexr door had all internal CCTV fitted last year.
You do realise you need to know what you are doing with this stuff nowadays dont you? The new ones are wireless and easily hackable. You dont really want your mother appearing on the internet getting upto all sorts of stuff do you? |

The same person had probably taken £1600 out of my mums bank at Xmas and maybe got away with numerous other thefts from other people
hopefully this will put an end to their thieving. |

CCTV was installed by professionals that are experts so don't have any worries about hacking.

well done now nail the scum

Thats not true Breedingmad
The guy who set my satellite system up also does CCTV and he showed me his phone and flicked through about 10 customers he'd installed cctv who didnt know they were now being watched |

He's most probably not "hacked" them, he's installed them, set up the username password, put them into his own app, and I'd be thinking is commiting an offence unless the people know about it. In fact if this is true and he's spying on them he's a piece of sh*t.

I installed a wired cctv at home for outdoors, no need for wireless

He very well might be that JC, but I was simply alerting to the possibilities.
people walk blind into things now thinking all is right when it isnt necessarily. Best advice is to change all passwords yourself and not take stock instillation. Thsi was just a heads on not with regards the point of the thread which is ofc a serious one, one which I know nothing. |

Ok
![]() But saying something is hackable is different to some shifty character walking away with a set of "keys". This guy sounds well dodgy. I find it hard to believe it's legal. Seems a long time since Satellite installation white van men were pillars of the community. |

By:
Well I wouldnt know much about that.
I was giving information that I felt was relevant. Whether they get hacked or have password compromised is just semantics, the result is the same. The additional part is that these devices do get hacked as a 'weak part of the internet of things' that generally get setup through wifi in people's homes. My point is a relevant one, people simply do not know the lapse security of some of these setups and run with what they are given. |

Incidentally, the story here ofc is one of BreedingMad going after some wrong un stealing from his mother, an action I wish him the best of luck with.

Its ironic they are called carers imo, hope she gets what she deserves, the level of care is shockingly bad.Had to put my parents in nursing home as have alzhemiers and have witnessed shocking lack of professionalism at the "care" home.seething here withe system, doctors, carers etc
Most more interested in charging thier iphones and waiting for shift to end.Yes its a tough job but dont enter the carer industry if you are not suited to the work, lots of chancers see it as easy money job.sad state its in imo. |
|
By:
I'm not too sure there's any money in it for the carers, it's those who profit from the whole situation I blame, they charge a fortune and hire the cheapest staff that arnt fit (ofc they arnt all bad uns)
My gran went into a home before she died a few years ago, they are pretty grim and smell constantly of piss and some of the inmates are confused and awkward and are locked in. On the home care which has to me better IMO, the old woman next door gets decent treatment from what I can tell. There's a steady stream of regular nursing that come all hours and I'm sure the sight of cctv keeps em honest. |

By:
Has time to install cctv and post on the internet but doesnt have time to care for his mother.
|
|
By:
That's poor sonko, go sit on the naughty step
|

Most of the carers will just be ex cleaners not highly trained staff, they'll be paid a pittance by the private care homes cashing in.
