ISIS began in Iraq , not Syria.
It was founded by Abu Musab al-Zarqawi. Obviously this would not have been possible but for the cluelessness of Bush/Blair in overthrowing Saddam and expecting some Arab version of the Lib Dems to emerge in his place. The Syrian Kurds are most likely to defeat IS in Syria , though Erdogan will not be happy with that. Their power is mainly in Iraq though . They survived there for a decade before the Syrian Civil War allowed them to get in there. |

Defeating ISIS is not what many countries want , who else they going to sell their weapons too at this moment in time

What's it got to do with us?

Iraq has taught us that we should never try to help people, they are never grateful. nobody likes to be thankful.

The chaser is partly correct in his brief summary.
Isil / Isis / is are just the latest American bogeyman that don't really exist following on from al-Qaeda / al - Qaida. The easiest way to control the masses is to keep them scared....Strauss. First we had the indigenous native Americans ( known as Indians to most ). Followed by the negroes ( or blacks, whatever the pc wording theses days is ) then communism, then aliens ( Roswell etc ) then back to communism, then terrorism, al Qaeda, al Shabbab, Isis. All of which were never really a threat in the first place. In a few years time, Isis will be replaced by something else. At the end of the day, it is still all about control of the middle east, especially the oil and gas. |

and nazi Germany and Military dictatorship Japan, such a disaster

Not sure how many millions communism killed.
|

By:
it's boring and going to go on for decades. they are systematically taking all the oil and gas in the middle east.

Do you know that for the native Americans, before Europeans ever arrived life was one of cruelty and savagery with tribe killing tribe in an almost continual and brutal struggle

In South America the culture included human sacrifice to appease the gods, so vast that the tears of the children ran down the beautiful mountainsides like rain.

Iraq has taught us that we should never try to help people, they are never grateful. nobody likes to be thankful.[/i] We did not try to HELP Iraq we invaded it and tried to kill them. The only country we wanted to help were ISRAEL so we decided to get rid of all powerful Arab leaders. Saddam, Gadhafi and the attempted removal of Assad. We should never gave created Israel it was a crime. |

Countries choose their own way of life, it is not for us to intervene lfc1971.
Not everybody is the same or wants to be |

Anyway there are nearly 7 million Muslims in France about 2 3/4 million in the UK.
It is in our own interest to get rid of ISIS before they turn all our own Muslims against us. The OP was correct Only my own opinion. |
|
By:
If they wanted to get rid of isis they would have done it by now. A medieval death cult springs up in the 21st century and all the modern weaponry of the US and the West is yet to stop a relatively small amount of isis fighters in syria.

We cannot un create Israel now. What we must do is to leave Israel on their own to look after themselves.
They are big enough now. We must in future be totally neutral between Israel and the Arabs, no more interference in the Middle East Unless it is clear up the mess we have made, this includes ISIS. We buy our oil and leave them alone, what we should always have done. |

I agree Yomomma, where are they getting their support? Saudi are one source, but I think their are others
|
|
By:
It's hard to know what to believe. There's conspiracy websites on the web that say USA were involved in creating ISIS. One thing's for sure we aren't fed the total truth in the media.

we always arm rebels and then wonder why they attack us in return.
we never learn. |

I see the jobcentres are advertising army jobs as new recruits needed.
Surely all parents have told their kids that they should never join to fight oil wars for corrupt governments. |

They are slowly but surely wiping out ISIS in Syria hence they are always calling for sympathisers in the West to commit atrocities in their name. The threat will alleviate eventually.

Lots will join up because they are brave and that's what they want to do. I doubt there are many people who entered at the lowest level who end up staying in the army for the money. |

I doubt there are many people who entered at the lowest level who end up staying in the army for the money. Same could be said for the people that join ISIS i suppose , ISIS members are in it for their believes and the army here are in it for their believes. |
