You have wonder what sort of deal the UK have done with the Saudis where France seem to be getting all the attacks and we seem to be getting off scot free.

Apart from Arms and stuff, the latest scandal is procuring a seat for SA on the UN Human rights council a couple of years ago.

https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2015/sep/29/uk-and-saudi-arabia-in-secret-deal-over-human-rights-council-place

Further scandal was that UK voted them to chair the council. Topically, they are refusing to rule out backing Saudi the head the council again. Today:

So, one of the worst human rights abusers in the world and sponsor of 9/11 (papers released by US government on the day of the Nice attacks) and the UK supports them without reservation it would seem.

The Saudis are the worst but the UAE are not above suspicion either. I bet Sheikh Mo doesn't  get cavity searched on his visits here though.

They fund ISIS, they funded 911, they tried to destroy the non-OPEC oil industry by flooding the market to force the price down. Yet never a word of criticism from the US or UK governments. We live in a strange world.

Not really. If you are a regime friendly with the west and open to trade with them then you are an autocrat who gets almost no criticism and coincidentally will not face any uprising and major opposition to your government. See Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar, U.A.E

If you are not friendly with the them and more friendly to Russia or China and trade with them then you are an evil dictator and will likely have an uprising in your country which will be backed by the west in order to secure regime change. See Libya, Syria and Iran in the near future.
