If it wasn't so important it would be laughable; our country needs a strong opposition but what we're now left with is an absolute joke of a political party.

Report Burton-Brewers • July 14, 2016 4:15 PM BST
you'll see anx your thugs are a laughing stock. Wurzel will end up with about 10 mps under the Socialist Labour banner, the others will get about 40 voted in and they will be the New Social Democrat party. With the numbers deserting you and the Tories UKIP will have about 70 mp's.
Report anxious • July 14, 2016 4:23 PM BST
At current Burton Labour has 330 mps  your idiots have 1 and the spivs 330 , Burton your little racist gang will get less than 10 probably less than 5

There's a clip going around of Eagle wallowing in Boris's political demise when someone shouts to tell her that he's the new foreign secretary. If you pause it in the correct place you can actually see her die a little bit insideLaugh

Steven Woolfe threw his hat in for the leadership today and he'll get it, man of the northerners who knows what a dump it is as he lived in Manchester.

Report Pokermonster • July 14, 2016 4:39 PM BST
I would agree with somewhere around the 180 mark.

But why does the party keep promoting wholly unelectable members to the front bench, it's as if they are actively pursuing a self-destructive agenda?  With the likes of Miliband, Corbyn, Eagle, Abbott etc, not only will your party never be able to govern, they'll never offer the country a credible opposition either, which is far more damaging to the country.
Report anxious • July 14, 2016 4:45 PM BST
Pork , last summer the Labour party had an election under new rules with membership voting rules which eD miliband brought in and originally a blairite idea , Jeremy was big outsider with andy burnham , Yvette cooper, and liz kendall all running , as you will know Jeremy won with 60 per cent of the vote a massive victory
Report ZenMaster • July 14, 2016 4:48 PM BST
Jeremy Corbyn's politics are unelectable.
Report anxious • July 14, 2016 4:49 PM BST
since then the PLP has been moaning about Jeremy  and the Blairites  recently led a bungled coup in order to unseat him , the reason being and I can accept is that he is not a tv star and perhaps not a great speaker in parliament, but should politics be about the punch and judy show at question time, real life is not at Westminster its in everyday life
Report Pokermonster • July 14, 2016 4:51 PM BST
Anxious.

Yes, sir, I am aware of all that, but Corbyn will never lead his party into government.  You know that, I know that, and the Conservatives know that.  Under his leadership, therefore, Labour cannot provide effective opposition and this is highly detrimental to the country.
Report anxious • July 14, 2016 4:53 PM BST
Jeremy has a lot of support within the Labour movement he is anti austerity, believes in defending the nhs, defending services for ordinary people and reversing tory attacks on the vulnerabl;e and the poor.
Report Pokermonster • July 14, 2016 4:54 PM BST
I refer you to the answer given some moments ago.

Report anxious • July 14, 2016 4:56 PM BST

We have a monthly deficit (on which we pay interest) of £8Bn.
Report anxious • July 14, 2016 4:59 PM BST

Report dustybin • July 14, 2016 5:00 PM BST
JC shows up politics for what it is, a manipulation of the masses where spin and euphemism is a 'dark art' of deception and the majority buy it.

He isnt well liked as he doesnt fit into the expected career politician mould, but thats a good thing imo.
He will continue to win each vote he's put in for while the greedy continue to dip bread and backslap thinking that while there is a scapegoat their actions dont have consequences.
Report anxious • July 14, 2016 5:02 PM BST
If Theresa May is true to her word she could reverse the cuts to labour councils which has crippled local social care this is money for the elderly , the frail , day centres for those with mental illness and learning disabilities which have been crushed by tory cuts
Report dustybin • July 14, 2016 5:03 PM BST
For what its worth I think the Eagle woman has done a reasonable job in daily parliamentary business, she has stood up well when asking questions of government.
Report ZenMaster • July 14, 2016 5:03 PM BST
Corbyn lost his integrity not pointing the Labour Party to Leave the EU.

He didn't represent the working class with that decision. He sold out Hilary Benn.

The UK working class want representation as it is they who vote in a GE.
Jeremy wants to represent the global impoverished.
You can't help everyone.
The needs to be priority.
Report anxious • July 14, 2016 5:04 PM BST

Report Pokermonster • July 14, 2016 5:06 PM BST
Anxious.

If Labour do not get their house in order pretty damn quickly, installing credible left wing candidates to the front bench instead of the clowns currently in residence, your worst fears will undoubtedly come to pass regards a resurgence of the Blairites in the party.  Why you persist in arguing otherwise is a mystery.
Report anxious • July 14, 2016 5:07 PM BST

Report anxious • July 14, 2016 5:16 PM BST
No its the Blairites who have started the trouble if they are so upset why do they not join the tory party they would be at home there
Report anxious • July 14, 2016 5:17 PM BST
The majority of them are not Socialists in fact they are not even Social Democrats
Report ZenMaster • July 14, 2016 5:18 PM BST
General Elections are won/lost over centre ground though anxious. That is were most lives are
People want balance and the Tories do that better than Labour.

The Tories have upped the national living wage
Increase tax allowance
Increasing free child care.

Corbyn's suggestions seem counter productive.
Ending capitalism is like killing the goose.
Report Pokermonster • July 14, 2016 5:18 PM BST
Is Angela Eagle a Blairite, then?
Report Injera • July 14, 2016 5:18 PM BST
The attack on the 'square mile' is not fair.

The financial sector which is across the UK (not just in London) has brought billions of wealth to this nation over many decades. Brown loved it because of the taxes that could be spent schools, welfare etc.

To criticise the 'banks' for the crisis is ok if you also give them credit for all the wealth they have also created.
Report anxious • July 14, 2016 5:20 PM BST
