A matador died after being gored by a bull in Spain, the first bull fighter to die in the ring for 30 years.
Also on Saturday a man died after being gored by a bull during a bull run through a village.

I strongly disapprove of bull fighting, it don't seem fair to me.
Bull runs I don't mind as it is a test of a man's courage...and women if they want to try

On average 10 people are killed every year at bull runs in Spain.
Was really saddened to read that as I'd hoped it was a lot more. |

Not sure what point you are trying to make CLYDEBANK.
In your scenario innocent people died because of the actions of others. In this scenario the people who died were active in animal cruelty and were killed by those same animals. Karma imho. |

Innocent animals die in their millions every day to feed and to clothe humans. Ditch meat and leather shoes if you love animals that much, otherwise you'd be a hypocrite |

I don't eat meat or indulge in leather goods but I realise that they are both a big part of modern day life.
However it shouldn't stop us from asking for animals to have a decent life and treated humanely at all times. In the case of bullfighting and bull runs I genuinely couldn't give a feck how many humans are killed. |

There is a big difference between killing animals to eat and survive and killing them for so called "fun".

The big question is, If there is a God, what kind of God would create a scenario where creatures, animal or human or whatever, would have to kill and eat each other in order to survive?? Surely, God could have come up with a better blueprint?

Bullfighting is part of the history and culture of Spain. Imo it's up to the Spanish what they do. I think caging hens in awful conditions to shave a few percent off your margins is far worse.

On watching the death in slo mo on youtube you can see the guy take it in the side....
I wonder if at that point he's thinking 'I should have listened to father and become a dentist'? Its archaic and had it's day, time for Spain to catch up methinks. |

If a jockey was klled in the GN, a race in which at least one horse dies on average every year for fun what then? Does the horse get eaten like I presume the bull does, or does an innocent horse needlessly get eaten instead?

They don`t races horses in the National with the direct intention of killing them, that`s the BIG difference. The object of Bullfighting is to torture and kill a magnificent creature in the disguise of "sport" or "culture".

In the animal kingdom, in most species there are natural fights for supremacy. As humans, we still have this primal instinct. Should we fight against it and ban anything that resembles it?

The aim of Bull fighting is for the matador to KILL the bull....that it is objective.
The Bull defends himself and the only way he can get out alive is the kill the MATADOR. The MATADOR has choice, the BULL does not' The Bull is also tortured and weakened before he meets the Matador by Picadors on horses with Varas(lances). This is grossly unfair. I agree mac although the matador can put a pair of horns on his own head, that is all. Then they can go head to head. Vaseline  That is unbelievable xmoneyx, the bounders Dusty |
