I just thought of something. Now that Uk are leaving Europe they will not have to follow the European fossil fuels rules. This means they can open up all the closed coal mines and create thousands and thousands of jobs.Cool

Far too expensive, we can import coal cheaper that it would cost to extract deep mine coal here.
Air quality is bad enough already without burning more coal to make it worse.

plus we probably sold the mines to private billionaires.
they ain't daft like us. they buy real stuff with their
money.

oil can be used to make plastics too - not just for burning.

With technological advances and carbon capture burning fossil fuels has changed from when we all signed up to expensive wind & sun idea.

Hopefully we can re-open mines, even if they dont make billions that would mean they were bought out by germany anyway, as long as the tick over or make a loss, it has to be good for an independent island.

The idea of oil being a fossil fuel taught at school years ago.
I laughed and told the teacher he was daft as a brush.
As if millions of dinosaurs died in the same spot.

MP's debated this years ago - we're sitting on 300 years of coal at least?
