As a film director,looked upon as a one hit wonder but i remember watching a film called Year of the dragon which i seem to recall as being OK.He directed off course the disaster that was Heavens Gate and i think he paid,rightly or not,a high price for that.

For its time The Deer Hunter was like nothing ever seen before. It was an incredibly powerful film. Brilliantly, directed,filmed and acted..
Tour de force performances by de Niro and Walken I remember leaving the cinema emotionally wrecked. Truly one of the best films ever made. |

@A_T.In my use of the word disaster I was referring to the production costs,etc,not the actual film which I agree is a film of high quality.
