In Greece when Democracy was first created.
they picked their politicians by a random process.
In today's world if you want to be a politician
there's a case you might be a meglomaniac.
Or possibly been positioned by a group to reinforce
their positions.

George Bush
Hilary Clinton
Donald Trump.

say you picked 100,000 people from ten groups who were willing to be an MP.
they would have to be at higher college level to deal with papers.
doctors
farmers
business
charities
engineers
etc

their names put into a drum and 600 pulled out every five years.
made into MP's

After the five years - they would be replaced by a new batch.

no career politicians.

no more campaigning ?
All independent candidates?
no agendas for parties to gazump each other ?
no money raising to be an mp ?
no hanging on to power.

just national interest.

no collusion between Mp's that can last longer than five years.

If MPs had to be at a "higher college level" that would leave out most people, including most university graduates. What's more, intelligence guarantees neither common sense nor compassion.

You also forbid "money raising to be an MP". That's the poor banned, then. The reason that MPs were finally paid a wage (about 100 years ago) was to stop the rich controlling Parliament.

What you suggest sounds much like the original Greek democracy in which only a select few could be chosen. No poor and no slaves.

The Romans had a better idea. Twenty years military service. If you survived that, you could elect and be elected. That made for government by older and wiser people who cared about their country.

I was saying all you need is to put your name forward. NO need to raise cash for elections if you are picked by random for office. It does away entirely with money in politics. Pre elections anyway.
