I'm one of Barcleys fiercest critics, but he would have run at Iceland last night for 20 minutes (that's all he can manage) and they would have chit themselves. He can be a game changer. Hodgson was useless. Presumably his justification for resting players against Slovakia was to ensure a good performance last night. And yeah, we clearly needed to bring on a few players with some energy on 45 or 60 minutes at the latest.

How can we have done so much worse than in the qualifying? Against Switzerland, Slovenia, Lithuania, Estonia and San Marino we won ten out of ten, scored 31 and conceded 3. Are Russia, Wales, Slovakia and Iceland that much harder?

Rooney played no worst than the rest of the team..in my opinion

Hodgson has failed, but he tried. One problem I thought he had was he picked very attacking teams, but we never scored the goals to justify this.

In the past we have done better with a strong defence and hard running midfield, with a couple of strikers trying snatch us a goal.

Neither is he the only manager to have failed us either.

Hart?..I give up...He is a good goalkeeper but occasionally he makes mistakes. I think we should have chosen someone more consistent myself.

It is all easy in hindsight.
