So on the petition the rule that says "if the Remain or Leave vote is less than 60%, based on a turnout less than 75%, there should be another referendum.".. was retrospective legislation.

A House of Commons spokeswoman said the petition was created on 24 May. There were 22 signatures on it at the time the referendum result was announced.

It's not over until the fat lady sings! We can prevent Brexit by refusing to accept the referendum as the final say and take the finger off the self destruct button. The government does not want to leave and we should help them to turn this around. We almost prevented the Iraqi war by getting out on the streets. Now it is the populous vote that we need to take issue with. Let's not leave the next generation adrift. We can provide the ammunition the government needs to reason their way through this mess and reject the slim majority for Brexit, if we make a stand. The power is still with the people and we can change things if we are organised and passionate in our response. Let's unite the Remain voters and those who regret their vote to leave, to turn this on its head. Lets march together with Europeans who have lived in this country and given to this country, but who were not allowed to vote for this country. Let's make a stand and reject the outcome of the referendum on the basis of the riches we stand to loose, both economically and culturally. Lets march, lets protest, and lets stop Brexit. |
