Morning Zorro.  I caught the "tail end" of that report just a few minutes ago.

It brought the movies, "Soylent Green" & "Logan's Run" to mind.

earthrise : Six Legged Meat: Insects As Eco-Friendly Meat

Methane from cattle farming is more noxious in terms of global warming than the CO2 produced by all the world's cars. A team of scientists in Netherlands is investigating the nutritional potential of insects to replace protein yielded by livestock.

They will be adding ground up insect protein to bread next Zorro. Keep your eye on the list of ingredients just in case!

I regularly eat Perriwinkles (Sea snales). I've foraged and eaten them from a very young age, give them to a child who has no predispositions and eating insects will catch on.

Nothing wrong with foraging, Ovalman - I do it all the time ... and am healthier for it.

It's when "they" start mass producing "protein" for the masses that my alarm bell starts ringing.

Might Monsanto be involved? Whoops

Monsanto recently was rumoured would be taken over by a bigger corp. They said the name'monsanto' would be dropped. Hopefully all their bad press would vanish with the name drop. Call it 'fresh sweetie' is my idea.

I'll stick to peanut butter. F all you idiots eating insects like Renfield in Dracula.

My missus hates cheese but she was given cauliflower cheese in a restaurant thinking she was eating plain cauliflower. She quipped that was the best tasting cauliflower she'd ever eaten. When I told her it was cauliflower cheese she was physically sick.

It's all in our brains what we like to eat or not. If someone tells you it's bad then we always think it's bad. It's getting over it that is the problem. If someone gave me a dried insect that looked like say a crisp then I'd think it was delicious. If it had eyes and claws then I'd be repulsed. I would never think of picking up a snail (wrong spelling above! doh!), cooking and eating it yet I've no problem with periwinkles.

As I said, Oval, it's not the what ... but the who.

I was raised in the Far East, btw Wink

Was it not Bayer that made a move for them a few weeks back?
