burton i understand that is how they voted. but what % of 18-25 turned out to vote? i keep hearing that we haven't listened to the youth and we have ruined their futures. But if a small % turned out then this is correct
Report Burton-Brewers June 24, 2016 12:54 PM BST
sorry don't know that might have to wait a couple of days

Report smartie3 June 24, 2016 12:55 PM BST
they have no way of knowing how they voted. They could possibly say what age group, however.
Report vindaloo June 24, 2016 12:56 PM BST
if they know 75 % of 18-25 voted to remain then im sure be simple to show the turnout % also
Report CLYDEBANK29 June 24, 2016 1:02 PM BST
They've already ruined the youth, with the female pension age not being raised in line with men ages ago, and they are paying through it in exorbitant tuition fees.  Not to mention the oldies have benefitted from high house inflation to the young's demise.  In  4 years time the majority of living people in this country will have voted to remain, and have to pay for the folly of the self indulgent xenophobic pensioners.
Report Burton-Brewers June 24, 2016 1:07 PM BST
those of us that are not pensioners are we just racists?
Report CLYDEBANK29 June 24, 2016 1:17 PM BST
I didn't use the term racist.  Not all people who voted to leave are xenophobic, but the older you are, the greater the chance you are, as the referendum result shows.
Report vindaloo June 24, 2016 1:19 PM BST
so to vote leave your racist?

I hope I'm wrong obviously, but if this decision does end up costing us in terms of our nations prosperity, pensioners should bear the brunt of the cost.
Report vindaloo June 24, 2016 1:24 PM BST
cheers money does it give a figure im usong my phone so hard to see
Report vindaloo June 24, 2016 1:25 PM BST
bet they already feel like they are with money being wiped off their pensions. i suppose u think thet deserve it for being racist
Report ReaseHeath June 24, 2016 1:31 PM BST
What did the youth vote for in 1975? Those who voted out have been in against their will for 40+ years and those that voted in did n't get what they signed up for.
Report CLYDEBANK29 June 24, 2016 1:46 PM BST
Brexit voters rely on state pensions and/or have had to use their pensions to buy annuities.  Only wealthy pensioners with private portfolios are affected short term by the stock market dip.  It's future pensioners, not current ones who lose out on the pension front, unless you worked for British Steel, then it's both.
Report CLYDEBANK29 June 24, 2016 1:48 PM BST
Of course every one will have to pay short term an extra 10% for any goods imported from overseas, so those on a budget and suffering will suffer even more.

Those who voted yes 40+ years ago, had no idea what it would be like? We now know.

We are more gullible when we are young.

Its noticable that there isnt one of those nice everyone coming together celebrations in london where everyone waves flags, sings songs and celebrates a moment in history. Everyones just going the pub as if nothing happened. Its fantastic were becoming more British already!
Report Coachbuster June 24, 2016 9:06 PM BST
the celebrations will fizzle out when folk realise beer's gone up in price Laugh

If remain had won there would be a mass outpouring of love and euro flag waving. Its such a demographically split vote. The leave winners are just getting on with life while the remain losers are in a big huff

The point is that the older voters have experienced decades of spin and bulls!t and, finally have had the opportunity to tell the establishment 'none of the above'.

With regard to celebrations, the winning demographic is trying to organise a great big massive party somewhere in middle England.

Embracing social media, Brenda Tomkins (68) of Crewe is trying hard to set up a Twitter page on her Nokia as we speak.

Dennis Powell, (62) has spent most of this morning trying to find his log in details for Friends Reunited.

And, Ada Rushwick (85) has invited her neighbour, Maureen round for a cup of tea.

How are the stats/graphs produced ? How do they know whether it's Labour/Conservative who voted eitherRemain/Leave, or what age people were. None of this information is on the ballot paper or electoral register.
Report Jack Hacksaw June 25, 2016 9:08 AM BST
I was just going to post a similar thing.

Seems it is from a poll of 12,000 people conducted by Ashcroft.
Report vindaloo June 25, 2016 10:27 AM BST
