Counts will get under way when polls close at 22:00 GMT Thursday, 23 June at 382 local centres around the UK. These local results will be declared as the counts are completed before being collated at 12 regional centres, which will also declare the totals for each side.
There will be a rolling total so the time at which one side reaches the point of being mathematically unbeatable depends on how quickly the votes are counted and how close the results are running. It is a safe bet that from 04:00 onwards there should be pretty clear picture of which way the vote is going. A chief counting officer will announce the overall result at Manchester Town Hall. |

I think we all know that REMAIN will be declared the winner on Friday, much as it pains me.

There are no exit polls

Exit polls won't be used I don't think. They only work relative to data from previous elections as a means of comparison.

Ah - Dave - you are here. I wondered where you were hiding after getting smashed out of the stadium on the tariff debate. Good to see you are healthy. Would hate to think we pushed you over the edge.

Daily polics discussed it at length today.
look for first results 2am, get a good picture by 4, should know final result depending on how close it is by time to go to work so I presume they meant 8-9am. |

Some banks/traders are having some type of exit polling done with live hourly updates. So we might have some idea how it's going throughout the day from the markets.

I shall be staying up for as long as LEAVE are still in with a squeak of victory. As soon as all hope is lost I'll retire to bed.
I can hardly comprehend the likely outcome of the Great British public actually voting to deal with the likes of Juncker, Schauble and Van Rompuy instead of going it alone. It just seems incomprehensible to me. |
