Check out his interview on the BBC.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk

It is of course the main headline.

I found it very disturbing. He's Blair esque in his demeanour. He says Jo died for her political views which I find an incredible thing for a grieving husband to say (given the timing..)

My other question is why is he speaking to the BBC at this time? I can't imagine any situation in which I would want to go public at the death of my wife. Perhaps 6 months or a year on but now???

I do wonder if their style of campaigning has aggravated an already sensitive subject in their local area, this is rather strange to be so focussed on the EU politics at such a sensitive time ?? Odd.

I've found events since this murder obscene.
Normally a very sad time with inner thoughts and not wanting contact with anyone other than family.
Yet here we have had speeches, posts on social media and tv interviews in the immediate aftermath.

I am beginning to understand what has happened in Birstall now, a zealot style campaigner family ignoring the plight of poorer constituents in order to empathise with the immigrant groups at any cost will have inflamed local passions to ignite one brooding nutter who couldn't cope with the rhetoric,it must have been a bitter place last week when the sex assaults was centre page in the local papers.Nobody knows but if Mair were to be related to one of the abused kids he may have had a motive for what he did,all speculation of course.
