The death of Star Trek actor Anton Yelchin was cast in new light as it was discovered that his car was a Jeep Grand Cherokee, some versions of which were recalled by manufacturers in April.
The 27-year-old actor was found pinned between his car and a postbox in his own driveway. Investigators say he may have left the car in neutral, failing to notice when it started to roll down the steep incline towards him. The Jeep Grand Cherokee was recalled due to its confusing gear-shift mechanism which was causing drivers to exit the car without ensuring the handbrake was engaged. |
