You'd think it would be the rich, successful ,smug types waving their flags about - but alas no, it be the casualties who are most proud of this nation

Working classes have always been conned into being patriotic..... So that we will die on the battlefields of 'their' wars

Now you come to mention it, I've not seen many flags this time: a couple of cars maybe. The Euros don't seem to have captured the public imagination like the last lot or the World Cup did.

Mecca thinks people are conned into being patriotic, that's pure sad and shows that EU propaganda works.
The EU have declared they need to smash the nation state for the sake of markets yet its natural for people to love their country. The huge influx of migrants has changed Britain. The indigenous people are discriminated against, laws don't apply to new arrivals, they get extra benefits and skip queues. This is all done in the name of social cohesion. The English have been taught to be ashamed of their history, ashamed of their culture, ashamed of their flag. Emily Thornbury the Labour MP famously tweeted a photo of an English flag outside of a house and sneered can't wait to get out of here. |

you'll find loads of council's crackdown on people displaying them. I know 2 chaps threatened with prosecution by East Staffs council back in 1996. |

Thankfully there isn't a council estate anywhere near where I live but it's encouraging to hear the poor people are having fun and being patriotic. Gives them something to do I suppose.

England flags are awash on estates.
Bunting, particularly of the cotton variety, is the preserve of the middle classes. I have yet to hear a pikey say to his mates 'Come on lads, help me put this bunting up'. |
