I prefer jaguars earlobes and wolf nipple chips.

I eat range eggs. If you have a drive out to the countryside, you'll see the signs outside houses giving them away.

Good, because this is really bad!

I recently sent you an email about my latest investigation into European quail farming. Seeing such tiny, fragile birds subjected to the callousness of overcrowded, filthy factory farm conditions was devastating.

Everything I learnt about quail factory farms was horrifying. But the most terrifying realisation of all was that the space allowed per bird may be no bigger than a beer mat.

Farmers talk of quail products as ‘luxury’; eggs and meat are marketed as high-end. The reality couldn’t be more different. Factory farmed quail have lives often measured in days and endured in appalling conditions. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a wider contrast between the rearing of animals and the marketing of products.

That’s why I’m emailing you today. No farm animal, big or small, should have to live this way

Get your butler to peel the hard-boiled ones as they can be very fiddly
