Just back from a week in Cornwall- noticed the road signs are in English and then repeated in Cornish - so i looked it up: there are less than 600 people who can speak cornish- 100 of them live in London
The money received from the Department for Communities and Local Government was linked to the UK responsibilities under the European Charter for regional or Minority Languages and could not be drawn down by Cornwall Council for any other purpose.
