When I lived there many years ago, they used to put their bets on in newsagents for some reason. Probably all changed now though. probably wont help much with your I-phone question, but thought I would mention it ,anyway.

Dont risk it in the newsagents in France.
When I was there all I said in my pigeon French was, "tu, er..... bete?" i.e. would you take a bet? Literally got hounded out of the shop. It could have been the informal use of "tu" but I suspect they don't like gambling. |
