On BBc ARTIcLE In guardian saw this comment....
I've given up alcohol for a while. It's been a little over six months now. One thing I've noticed is that I'm thinking about things I haven't thought about in years. Like a couple of weeks ago I was riding a bicycle along the banks of Yodogawa River in Osaka drinking an iced coffee and I found myself thinking about freewill and determinism. In particular I recalled what I believe to be a logical absurdity in the notion of agent causalism. This is something I haven't pondered since I was an undergraduate, and I'm not sure that dwelling on such things is a blessing. Maybe I started drinking in order not to have to think.Laugh

I haven't watched the programme, whats the point?.They lowered the safe level of units for men from 21 to 14 overnightLaugh

Ever get the impression they're making it up as they go along.

Basically the program blows a few myths about alcohol..and retains some e.g eat before you drink

If 28 units a week was dangerous virtually everyone ive ever worked with or known would be long dead.

28 units is a bottle of spirits ?

was just in the supermarket and see the 1tl for £15 offer is on ,fancied a bottle of rum ,had Appletons spiced rum 70cl  ,never heard of it but in a fancy bottle ,captain morgans spiced was 15 a litre as was bicardi ect ,could not make me mind up and left it .
Anyone tried this appletons ?  usually buy the sailer jerry.

Just found out last week that spice was put in rum to hide salt that had ingressed the barrels that had been  smuggled in .

tbh the spirits are not worth the hangover but great at the time Silly

fewer/less than 14 units a week is bordering on dangerous ,21 is  much  nearer the safe limit imo .

the body needs a small drop of alcohol to function properly .

the body needs sunshine as well and plenty of it .

worst advice  given  was dangers of sun which sent folk  scurrying for shade at every opportunity .

no wonder we are a very sick country .
