Pretty sure if I was in a burning building and some person was climbing up a ladder to carry me to safety, I'd prefer it to be a bloke. |

Actually, there is something funny here. I can see why, historically, Black people might not have wanted to join the police whom they saw as the enemy but why not the fire brigade (or the ambulance service, come to that)?

I'd prefer it still more for employers to be able to employ people on merit, as opposed to their colour/gender/faith. I daresay that's too much to ask for in 'Progressive' Britain.

Diversity = less white people. Old Bill are thinking of appointing a 'Diversity Champion' to address the lack of diversity in their ranks..(give me strength..) We are told the police, parliament, fire brigade, FA are 'too white'. How racist is that??!!! Is Brixton too black? Leicester too Asian? Nope, can't go there.. Racism is a one way street. We are forever hearing that the current police force is "too white" and that it "does not represent the community it serves".
