You can't win - search for cheaper ones & they could well be snide.

LIDL blades aren't bad for day to day use, you get 4 sets of double blades for cheap, they fit the classic old gilette razor types. The new "gilette 6 blade with dodo kitten blood ultraglide strip" type are I agree ridiculously expensive.

I gave up shaving because i kept cutting myself. In the future with antibiotic resistance it could prove fatal. I don't like razor burn too.
the first guy, a policeman, that got treatment with antibiotics got an infection from pruning rose bushes in his spare time. A prickle got him in his hand. They didn't have enough penicillin to treat him and had to collect his urine to strain it back out. He died simply because of a lack of penicillin.

Like designer handbags sold at a 50,000% markup because they've got a logo on them.
If you want a 5 blade razor, gaffa tape two and a half dual blade razors together, in your shed. That's what a real man would do.

I buy a 5-pack of Wilkinson disposables from the £1.00 shop and sometimes, when on offer, Sainsbury's sell them for £2.00 for 10. Considering I shave my head as well as my face I need a blade that can do the job and these, after having a stock of discarded disposable in the bathroom, do a nice job. I found the green ones were not up for it but the blue one is my preferred choice. I shave every other day (head once a week) and each blade can last for up to two weeks. I think I can handle 10p per week.
Back in 2009, following the stock market crash, I found myself unemployed for a while and had to learn to budget very carefully. Whilst researching this I discovered that £ for £ shaving foam is actually 10x cheaper than gel and it does, imo, the same job.

As i have hair I don't need foam to shave simply rub up a lather from a bar of soap and spread all over my face. Of course i save more by not shaving at all. use a hair clipper to even it all out.

A spray of alcohol too.
Blades don't go blunt, it's the crap that you leave on, that blunts the edge

They also put a 50% premium on similar blades for women.
Whenever I used to go to France I would stock up on my preferred blades.
It's all part of rip-off Britain.

I didn't like the Gillettes; they were my first choice and although they done the job I've stuck with these. They have a little push button on top that separates the blades for easy cleaning. Either way, if you can get 2 weeks out of one of these razors that is good value.
I judge a blade on how it does my head because you have to shave by touch. I seldom miss bits with this blade, it tends to get most of the hairs down to almost a cue ball. I can get a cue ball with them too but then I get issues with spots coming up as the hairs grow through again and it also takes an age to get it totally smooth.

I reckon the key to a good shave is to have your bristles as well softened as possible. The generally accepted sequence is to shave then shower, however recently I have turned this on its head and shower first and really soften my growth. Pretty much any blade will give you a very good shave after that.

its all a con imo. they are just extending the life cycle of their products/brands. two blades, three blades, four blades, five blades, a strip to moisturise as you shave, its all total bs. when they come with two buxom naked swedish sorts one of whom shaves you while the other performs fellatio then they will be worth serious money

It's capitalism. Razor blades are almost the perfect capitalist product because the customer never stops paying for them. The principle has been adopted by such as Apple and Phillips-Siemens who make sure the batteries for their products give up after a short lifetime. Lithium batteries could last much longer but would not be as profitable. Built in obsolescence solves that problem.
