It says since 1880..not all time
Otherwise it will get too hot for life at some point At the moment I am not sure anyone anything for certain |
|
By:
correct... it might take 10,000 or 1,000,000 years? I never paid attention to the timeline. but the scientists did say it will eventually get too hot to live on the surface.
the sun is not a light bulb that pumps out 60watt light at a steady rate. It's 60.001, today next week it's 60.002 and so on. Eventually it'll be a 100w then 200watt. until it expands and destroys all the planets. |

The rising temperature this year was predicted last year (I think we discussed it somewhere on these boards).
No doubt the information about the sun will be hidden by the science community in their quest for funding. |

NASA have made an attempt at answering the question
They claim the changes in temp are too large to be caused by increase I solar activity. NASA point out that if the warming was caused by increase in Solar energy then all levels of the atmosphere would warm not just the surface. http://climate.nasa.gov/faq/ Then again NASA did not mention that they once watched an Horizon episode. So maybe Zorro is correct , just need to write up your report Zorro and let NASA know that they have made a mistake. |

There is one way we can predict this surely. Fossils fuels are formed over millions of years when they are gone they are gone
We have not found all Fossil fuels but surely scientist can make an estimate. The cam make an estimate of our future population based on current increases. They can make an estimate of how much energy they will need based on current requirements. On that basis surely they can make an estimate of how much the Earth will warm over time? |
|
By:
I apologise Zorro you are right
![]() The estimate is 1 billion years aprox, the increased brightness of the sun will make Earth uninhabitable. But it may make Mars habitable, so all is not lost, we just have to move planets. |

well one of the experts in the horizon episode had been studying the sun from twenty till he died in his eighties. One of the most respected sources in solar science.
Nowadays his opinion means little because as we know the most recent opinion is the right one. |

Nice one Zorro, I suggest you let the muppets at NASA know that they don't anything about space & science.
Just point out that you once saw an episode of Horizon which included a respected solar scientist. I suspect NASA will correct their web site and send you a PhD in the post for your contribution. Nice work Zorro. I was not sure if you or NASA were a better source of information regarding solar activity, you have convinced me that you should be believed. It is about time NASA acknowledge your work. |

Mexico - did you see the arctic ice disappear completely in 2012?
"NASA experts predicted an ice-free Arctic for 2012" - that prediction was made only 5 years earlier. They know everything, those NASA guys..... |

the problem with all the debate about this stuff is too many scientists have been funded to find evidence that backs up claims to protect various globalists vested interests ,Its a feckin minefield .
To make any sense you need to scratch the surface a bit ,artic ice ,summer and winter are confused and not easily understood and taken out of context ,throw in the complete head fck that is surface temps and their recent digitization and revision its hardly worth the effort . What i do know ,and its not a lot ,is that sea ice (summer) actually increased and this was siezed upon by certain people to prove all calculations and predictions were inacurrate and false ,but what was hap was the melt from land ice ,fresh water that does not readily mix and floats on sea water had increased and was more easily frozen and gave some an indication all was well when in fact it was proving the opposite ,also percieved climate change and warming has led to increased snow fall in parts and land ice is also now increasing but not in the parts many have been interested in so overall a very confused and convaluted picture . Throw in the mish mash of paid scientists and acctivists for various groups and corps and its very confused ,in fact even the historic data official or otherwise is contested and what we have is a complete headache for the laymen like ourselves ,sifting through rafts of crap and counter crap ,endless bollocks that is quite frankly getting very tedious and boring . As for the suns output ,i am of the belief that the output is falling atm and has been for some time ,think that is pretty much accepted as fact ,suns output has been falling for a long time but cant be ersed debating it |

Would you have a link for that breadnbutter? I would agree with everything you have posted before that. The layman has been has been fed some very confusing and contradicting predictions. Science cannot always agree on things, there are always conflicting scientific theories particularly when dealing with something new. But a lot has been stated as fact rather than theory, which is wrong. There are corporate and political interests which are influencing this. This is making it impossible for the layman, who is rapidly losing faith in anything that is claimed. As in a lot of things HONESTY is the best policy. Lies are totally confusing the issue. |
|
By:
This has to decided on pure science, because scientists are the only ones who are knowledgeable enough to know what is really going on.
Science's success has always been based on total HONESTY, nothing can be claimed unless it is proved. Scientific integrity is what is needed here. |

Shab, I did not read that prediction by NASA. A more considerate poster would have put a link to the prediction.
So are you claiming that their measurements are incorrect because they made a prediction a few years ago & that prediction was incorrect. If you provide a link to the NASA prediction, I will read it. I am not sure how that is relevant to their measurements of atmosphere temperature or their measurements of the amount of solar energy reaching the planet. |

http://www.nasa.gov/content/goddard/antarctic-sea-ice-reaches-new-record-maximum
north is melting - south is growing. Antartica ice is gaining. The planet is revolving and spinning and things on it move around. The polar bear population in 1950 was 5,000-10,000 bears.... it's now 26,000 bears. In Norway they are making a comeback. In three countries they are declining in numbers. All the rest are static. http://dailycaller.com/2015/12/23/as-the-arctic-shrinks-norways-polar-bear-population-booms-grows-30-in-11-years/ man has been hunting the polar bears since the 16th century? POLAR BEARS are still hunted in places? So sea ice isn't the only dangerous factor in their lives. |
