My parents bought their house for £11,000. could sell it today for £100,000 but it's the same house. the rent was a pitance in the seventies/eighties now it would be £400 a month. So it's gotten more expensive to just live. We rented, but now we buy. But at a higher rate. you now have to come up with a deposit of thousands to buy a house in installments(rent by another name). |
