Shadow Europe Minister Pat Glass has apologised after calling a voter a "horrible racist" while on the EU referendum campaign trail.
Ms Glass said the comments, which were made during a BBC Radio Derby interview after an encounter in Derbyshire, were "inappropriate".
The BBC reported that the man Ms Glass was referring to had described a Polish family living in the area as "spongers" because he believed they were living on benefits.
"Concerns about immigration are entirely valid and it's important that politicians engage with them," the Labour North West Durham MP said.
"I apologise to the people living in Sawley for any offence I have caused."
In the interview, Ms Glass is heard saying: "The very first person I come to is a horrible racist. I'm never coming back to wherever this is."
The 'Progressive' Left just can't stop themselves can they? ANYONE who questions ANYTHING about Open Doors Mass Immigration is immediately labelled a RAYYYY-CIST.
Lest anyone forget, this is a member of Labour's Shadow Cabinet, with responsibility for EUROPE. How can the public have ANY confidence in this person?

more importantly doesn't it demonstrate just how out of touch Labour is with its "core" supporters? Not only are someone's concerns about immigration classed as "racism" but, and this is a bit rich coming from someone who once said that women with Northern accents were ignored in Parliament, but she, a former shadow education minister , didn't know where she was. Perhaps Geography wasn't her strong point! hence her move to position of Shadow European Minister .....I assume she knows where Europe is?
