If you don't keep him away from Kenny Mann.
Seriously, no matter how well you look after your dog if you let him off the lead to run about the park or wherever you take him he could have his wicked way with a loose bitch before you get to him so best get him seen to.
Enough unwanted 'pets' in this world as it is.

A form of animal cruelty imo.

The real cruelty is in irresponsible owners allowing their pets to breed at random.

A male labrador's every instinct is to cover everything within sniffing distance of his home. If you leave him as he is, and presumably don't allow him free rein to bonk anything and everything and father several dozen puppies a week, then you're treating him cruelly.

Cut 'em off and you'll have a labrador as happy and fulfilled as he would only otherwise be if there were not one single non-pregnant bitch left in his territory.

The same applies with horses.

Heaven help the Leopard and scandinavian_haven if they ever acquire anything bigger than a goldfish.

It's purely a selfish act, it's all about the owner and not the pet here it seems.

What the hell's the difference between neutering them and, for example, feeding them, grooming them or treating them for fleas? It's called caring for the animal and its welfare.

Domestic breeds of dog (and domestic horse breeds) only exist because of human intervention. They need human care, and part of that care is not burdening the species with millions more of them who can't be cared for.

Even though people do have them cut of dogs, being realistic most dogs are kept
under control or in the house so the chance of them bonking everything in sight
is pretty slim , it does calm them down though - thinking about it this would be far better used on a certain
breed of human being? .......probably about 30 years to late though tbh.

Denying an animal the right to breed is animal cruelty, also, not everybody lives on the doorstep of open acres of countryside for them to rein free, most people for most of the time have what they call in dog owner circles, a lead. All animals should be allowed to have offspring, don't think humans should be playing God and coming up with all sorts to justify not having to worry about some bitches owner wanting upkeep for the litter.

Worst thing you can ever do. Apart from driving the dog nuts and turning him into a vicious psycho, attcking other dogs, a scent is left after the operation and every dog will try to mount him. Do it and you will find out for yourself.

I rescued a 9 month old Springer and had the choice of having him snipped and didn't. My mate had had Labradors for years and always had his done and urged me to do it but I didn't, I felt a bit sorry for the dog and I was inexperienced with them.

The Vet told me it could lead to problems in later life for the dog and he was right. He got prostrate trouble aged 12 and I had to have it done then and it took him a long time to get over it.

I've rescued another Springer  and took him to the Vet to be examined. He was in bad shape but the Vet commented that at least he had been castrated and it was one less problem.

Get him done, they are much cleaner and better behaved.

Scandinavian_haven doesn't mind unlimited breeding because it's somehow natural, while at the same time advocating keeping a dog on a lead its whole life to prevent it. Yeah, that's going to be a happy dog. Leave a labrador with its phenomenal urge to ejaculate and then deny it the chance to do so. And it does lead to prostate problems, the same as it does in human males.

The only other twerp who's ever come on here and aggressively argued against neutering is the now banned northernlad, and I'm doubtful whether he or scandinavian_haven ever donated the millions of pounds animal charities need to clean up the mess caused by his keyboard cretinism.

What a classless post Screaming, haven't said anything aggressive or personally insulting at all but your post is full of it. Also putting words into my posts to emphasise your point doesn't help.

Obviously a subject close to your heart. Each to their own, all the best.
