Just in case there are them what do not know what is COURSING, Slippy, here I have taken the trouble to look up Wikipedia :
"Coursing is the pursuit of game or other animals by dogs—chiefly greyhounds and other sighthounds—catching their prey by speed, running by sight, but not by scent. Coursing was a common hunting technique, practised by the nobility, the landed and wealthy, and commoners with sighthounds and lurchers. In its oldest recorded form in the Western world, as described by Arrian, the sport was practised by all levels of society, as remained the case until ****Carolingian forest law**** appropriated hunting grounds, or commons, for the king, the nobility, and other land owners." |

reluctantly yes...there needs to be some way of culling foxes, there are too many now
|
|

Zorro - why you bringing them people like Woodrow Parfrey into a bloodsports thread?? People like Parfrey are completely irrelevant to this kind of discussion...

no
Why should foxes be culled, we've encroached on their territory destroying their habitat and so they've had to come into to cities. |

No, not if her first name is Stella anyway..

Leicester - The Foxes
A sign that foxes should be protected. |

Yes, eventually
There are a tad few bigger priorities for the government though |

Parfrey is NOT relevant.

We could bring back bear baiting and c0ck fighting too. Why should the toffs have all the "fun".

|
By:
rather shoot them but yes they are getting to be a pest
|
|
By:
Baiting the toffs is what this ban was all about. it was only delivered in parliament at a time when Blair was in trouble and needed the Labour troops to rally around him on Iraq. Just like a bunch of lemmings they fell for it and voila !

By:
No....it was about protecting animals from being ripped apart.
|
|
By:
The only animals getting ripped apart at the time were in Downing Street. The ban is a different issue but it only happened to take the heat off Blair at the time.

It's already legal if hunting with a rifle in a joyless and non-public manner.
I don't have a problem if the ban on hunting with dogs is repealed - some people would though, as they object to hunting methods that people enjoy. |

Best way to control the fox population, imo

Foxes are vermin. It's well known that Rats grow up to be foxes.
They eat young children if they get the chance to grow bigger into wolves. They must be stopped. The government has formed a league of men to deal with foxes. Mr Alan Quatermain and Leyland Smith will head the hunt. Have you like me got too much time on your hands? Take up killing small critters to feel important. Work your way through the animal kingdom until you feel capable to take out a pensioner. One day you might be out there killing SNP candidates. It's all good. |

I don't know - you'd get more sense out of Bongo Jack than some of the people who go FOX HUNTING.

That could easily be the same with posters on the BF forum too !
