Ooops, thread should read 'RUN IT TWICE', not run in twice

What does it mean?
|
|
By:
I've only seen it happen a couple of times on the televised stuff annie.
Not sure what I make of it but I'm now gonna go and see whats online about it. |
|
By:
It's only allowed Eeter if one player is all-in and both players agree to it.
Splits the pot and hand played twice. Main reason as annie suggests is variance. |

Please do akabula, like you I am a novice at it, so I would like some advice.
ET, it means that if you bet all your money on a hand and you have indicated prior that you would like to 'run it twice' and your opponent agrees then the hand is played out twice. So you get two bites of the apple so to speak. It is hard to describe. I am no expert at all on it. |
|
By:
I watched Helmuth do it but i'm sure they ran that hand 3 times.

online its a good idea as the variance is far greater. In a live game it's much more tactical because people might have all their playing money in front of them. Some players might only semi-bluff if they know that they can get two chances, so making it clear that you won't run it twice can help define a hand.

Thanks dave, it helps to understand it a bit more. Yesterday was only the second time it has happened to me and I lost on it. I think I am going allin more just to see it in action, stupid of me

Seen it a few times - never played it.
Should make it easier to go all in after the flop with a draw as likely to win half the pot even if opponent calls the big raise. |
|

That is what I think, Mexico. I think it would make it easier for me as I am not as aggressive as i should be and I get bullied off hands sometimes.

As Akabula says this is the key point. Players have to check the box in their settings so, - you don't know if they have or if they haven't -. Majority haven't imo, and if they haven't, then it won't run twice even if you'd like it to. And I'm almost sure you can't search that players settings whilst you're deciding whether to shove or not. |

But for the individual, not much good getting variance, if you can't guarantee variety.
When the pro's do it (high stake cash tv games etc), they agree it post the chips going in. So it doesn't actually influence pre-shove decision making. Which is essentially what Annie was talking about. |

I have looked at 'run it twice' again on pokerstars and bearing in mind the previous comments, it all boils down to whether they have checked their run it twice box and unfortunately I cannot tell beforehand. But I suppose I can make a note of who does and who doesn't. I was getting mixed up previously, but the replies have helped me, thank you. If I keep my box checked for it there might be occasions that I don't want to do it, bluffs etc. I wonder if you can change it during the game. I think it might help me more but as you say I don't think the bluffers who go allin with ntg would like it.

online with stars you are either yes or no. FTP was actually the first to start it and you could decide during the hand plus it was 50c extra rake. Live its very adhoc you can decide to do what you like as long as the casino allows run it more than once.

I wish you could do it in tournies
![]() I was playing omaha hi lo and had the nut low draw, the nut flush draw and the straight nut draw and he had just qqq, of course he won I think I was the favourite to win or at least split the pot but no such luck. Run it twice would have been nice. |

I was playing cash tonight and 'run it twice' happened. The first pot I shared but the second pot I won, so in this instance it has benefited me. It doesn't happen often as your opponent has to have it enabled but it is something you might look into.
