HUGE BREXIT BOOST: More than 100 City executives back campaign to leave âdamagingâ EU MORE than 100 chief executives from leading financial firms last night backed the campaign for Britain to quit the EU.
Senior City figures including prominent hedge fund bosses signed an open letter calling for a âleaveâ vote in the in-or-out EU referendum on June 23.
The move was being seen as another major boost to the âleaveâ campaign last night and fresh proof that many investors believe an EU exit could boost the British economy.
Matthew Elliott, chief executive of the Vote Leave campaign group, said: âFar from the picture of doom and gloom painted by the Government, it is clear that the City of London would not only retain its pre-eminence as the worldâs most important financial centre, but would also thrive after freeing herself from the EUâs regulatory shackles.â
''Hundreds of papers from the secretive trade talks between the US and EU have been released online.
They appear to confirm fears that the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership talks between Brussels and Washington will, when ratified, lead to the health service being privatised or dismantled.
The documents, obtained by Greenpeace Netherlands, include a US proposal to have a committee with representatives from Washington and Brussels to meet each year âto review state-owned enterprises and monopoliesâ which would include the NHS. The committee would meet annually and would not be guaranteed a representative from Britain. ''

It looks like the finance vultures (hedge funds) want to chop the UK between themselves, no rules.
