In my quest for less Stomach pain I quit Dairy - I tried kefir yogurt for a while Although dairy it gets fizzy and the lactose is more digestible. I didn't want to take calcium tablets as i heard the calcium carbonate was like rocks that just would not be absorbed by the kidneys and cause stones and plaquing - maybe even increase the chance of heart attacks.  Quitting large veg meals too ( too much potassium).
Fancy calcium supplements are out there and I paid £7 for a bottle? Too much.

What i do now is collect egg shells - boil them in a pan for ten minutes  grind them to a powder and add the egg shell dust to smoothies. The nuts who thought this up say it might even improve your teeth. a level teaspoon daily.
So far I'm still alive?

Greek style yoghurt has very little lactose as any remaining after fermentation is removed in the whey.

I find it hard to believe that the only way to get calcium is from dairy

calcium is probably in quite a lot of fruit and veg. try spinach or something. grinding up egg shells sounds prehistoric and wrong to me. you could alternatively eat a lot of sunflower seeds, I believe they are very high in calcium.

don't eat calcium at the same time as iron or zinc rich foods  as they all compete with each other - i only realised this a couple of years ago .

Also coffee can cancel out calcium . Some foods bind with calcium ,esp high fibre foods

Sunshine exposure 11-3pm  March - Oct 9 (south Eng ) April -Sep (Scotland)   helps  on the other hand  too .

eating lots of veg - but still experiencing bone weakness. eat fish(calcium in that) green veg(calcium) heard calcium needs strong stomach acid to absorb it. So i try to eat small amount of meat before calcium.

If you are eating stuff with loads of calcium in and it is making no difference then your body is not absorbing it.
Put black pepper on your veg as it contains an enzyme which helps your body absorb vitamins.
