I didn't know about it. I've moved. I do recall being flashed but the owners of my old house say that I've had no mail. 16 pages of depositions for a speeding offence seems ridiculous to me.

If someone else is insured on the car say you don't know who was driving. Simple

That's why it's got 'serious' ( with lots of pages). You will have been deemed to have ignored all the previous paperwork, as well as the original speeding offence notification. Therefore seen as someone evading the law. Lucky you haven't been pulled over by the police by now :(

I got caught on a camera, letter in post, with options. Elected to attend a speed awareness course. No fine ( but course cost was the same), but no points. Worth half a day in a classroom.

Was doing 80 in a 70 zone 2 weeks ago, seen the camera but generally when you see the camera it's too late, waiting on ticket but none yet fingers crossed.

I've called the people who live in my old house on a monthly basis to see if the letter came. I can't see why they'd lie. God knows what happened to it but you wouldn't think it would take 7 months to send it to my new address and a further 5 months to take me to court.

If what your are saying is correct it sounds like it will be time barred by the time it goes to court.

Did you inform DVLA you had moved before or after the offence?

^ well, obviously - or a Dual Carriageway.

Restricted road  Single carriageway     Dual carriageway  Motorway

Cars and motorcycles  30 mph         60 mph       70 mph      70 mph

If they prosecuted everybody doing between 70 and 80, on a Motorway -
The Royal Mail would become clogged up with the paperwork.

^ It was a motorway, mobile camera on a bridge.

NI here, over zealous police would be happy to prosecute. In fairness I knew I was doing 80

I informed them after I moved that's how I received the summons but I regularly checked with new owners for mail.

I think the general guideline is 10% + 3 mph

so 80 or over (or over 80) in a 70 mph zone

Sometimes you get long stretches of roadworks on the motorway and the speed is reduced to 50.  The signs say there are average-speed-check cameras and you can see them clearly yet there are always lots of drivers who are going way above 50.  Are roadwork cameras rarely on or do a lot of drivers simply not care?

Many drivers don't understand how average speed cameras work. You see the brake lights coming on as they pass the camera so often. They think as long as you go through both cameras at 50 you are ok. A woman who worked with my daughter genuinely believed if you changed lanes halfway through the roadworks the cameras cant detect you.Cry
