They should not be investigating for the sake of investigating, this is a serious waste of public money.

They cannot continue this investigation unless they are believe they are closing in on the suspect.

This is the job of police, they are paid to solve crime, so when are they going to do it in this case?

If they can solve this crime then do it otherwise they should have the honesty to admit they cannot.

It is right that they should still be searching for Maddie. Money is still being spent on looking for Ben Needham, and he's been missing for about 25 years.

Ben Needams Mum was given a one off sum last year to start a proper search.
Was £700k or thereabouts whilst more than £10m has gone into the search for Madeleine.

These cases are not closed. They are kept open until some new evidence comes in.

If these 3 kids had been left in the charge of a babysitter and they had left to go to the pub because they felt the kids were safe what do you think would have happened to the babysitter and how do you think the general public would view them?

I feel for the parents regardless of the hate they have received, but that's another story, the money however  handed out to them to aid this fund is way beyond the call of duty for the both the Investigation team and tax payers, you'd almost think she was a child from royalty. Nothing wrong with a private fund, which there is, being used by private investigators still searching, by constantly going back to the home office with the begging bowl whilst there are substantial cut backs in so many other areas is not on at all imo.

I wouldn't want to trust a babysitter in a foreign land. Much prefer to check the children myself at regular intervals. Nobody would expect that any harm would come to them. This is tragic and the McCanns are devastated at what's happened. You haters don't really help and I must wonder why you are so hateful?

Who would have thought a paedo would enter an apartment , find a defenceless child to abuse , and instead of abusing her right then when he has his chance , decides to carry off to wherever in plain view of dozens of people.

Or who would think a kidnapper would have gone in there and taken her and then just forgot to demand a ransom.

Or who could imagine that burglars would break in and then , instead of stealing various valuable items , would just grab a 3 year old child and take her away because they 'needed to silence her' ( actually the Mets main abduction theory).
