depends on your age, if you have no special T,S and c,s in your contract ,
1 weeks wage for every year up to 41 then 1,5 weeks for every year,if the governments paying it ,its capped at £475 a week and tax free

I'm 42.

No special t's and c's.

Firm I work are struggling clearly need to lose 3-4 staff due to reduced demand.
Was thinking of making an offer to be made redundant for 10k.

Doubt they would accept but worth a try IMO.

69 grand gives you a grand a month for 5 years ,makes you 47 best part of 20 years till state pension,even if you have 35 years contributions in, and you,ll have a 5 year employment gap in your work history if looking to get back into work when the money runs out,in a word utter madness, it is what it is about 3 months wages hardly a great opportunity

my lad worked at Toyota for 2 years and took voluntary redundancy, he picked up £17k then went to Jaguar
