needs to be an acid - read the article.

throwing down alkaline substances like goats milk and juices are delaying and worsening the problem. your stomach has acid that can strip meat from bone. it needs to be acidic.

Agree, rennie orange work brilliant, and tasteful to.

Of course it never occurs to people why they get indigestion in the first place.
How many doctors recommend to patients that they look to their diets before writing out a prescription for anti acid potions? The failure of medicine to recognise or ignore the cause of common indigestion is quite staggering. No one need get indigestion, unless their stomach is infected with the ulcer causing bacteria Helicobacter pylori. |

healthwyze - home of medicine's most established peer reviewed papers; definitely not trying to sell a whole load of quack remedies like silver in a bottle and collodial copper
Modern medical science doesn't know everything (that's why they keep going and change their minds), but that doesn't mean you should expect answers from people who know nothing. |

What are they trying to sell, don't they advertise? Isn't their agenda influenced by their advertisers? |

DStyle,
I'll repeat: ''How many doctors recommend to patients that they look to their diets before writing out a prescription for anti acid potions?'' |
|
By:
and i'll repeat:
just because doctors don't know everything doesn't mean you should take advice from people who know nothing. large areas of gastrointestinal health are poorly understood, there's no doubt about that. indeed IBS is a blanket term for an absence of a diagnosis. but the medical profession is trying to understand it using science and research. and it's takes time, and doctors are prone to hubris and cognitive dissonance and the attraction of certainty when it's not warranted and all the rest. but in the end they'll get there; something the quacks will never manage. (dr crippen - i was being sarcastic) |

and as for your quesion
''How many doctors recommend to patients that they look to their diets before writing out a prescription for anti acid potions?'' my answer is i don't know. and neither do you. a good doctor should look to explore all the differential diagnoses. |

Hang on I think I've jumped down DStyle's throat unjustly here.
The publication he mentions might well recommend people looking for a complete cure to their medical problems as opposed to simply treating the symptoms. |

Doctors don't explore the causes of common ailments though do they?
A glance at the pills that occupy most space on the chemist shop shelves tells us this. The biggest sellers are pain killers for headaches and remedies for indigestion. |

is the advice burying a toad in a box under an oak tree?
|
|
By:
My mate tried that DS, he said it didn't work.
|
|
By:
I told him he should have put his missus in the box instead of the toad, and got himself a younger woman.
|
|
By:
that sounds like solid evidence based advice.

is the advice burying a toad in a box under an oak tree? My mate tried that, worked remarkably well until he tried for the fourth time in one session & he sadly croaked. I'll get my coat ![]() |
